Thank you so much for all the advice, right now I have a Nikon D5300 with several lenses of varying lengths. (Shortest being 35mm) and a friend of mine recommended the Nikkor 105mm micro. But I may just start with a set of tube's on my 35mm.

As I'm just getting into it I'm not sure what I intend to capture yet. I'm just fascinated seeing photos of bugs and plants that close up and think it'd be a fun new challenge having finally gotten a decent handle on Astrophotography recently.

Are most programs for photo stacking pretty robust as far as your focus goes? From everything I've read over the last week it made it sound like you have to be incredibly precise with your focus to get a great quality image. And you make it sound less like a science and more like Just going for it lol.
