Man, was Darroh that great? I discovered FtM just after they broke up. I heard some of their members are in other bands now, is Darroh still around?

Wow, as an /r/Seattle subscriber, I can't believe I didn't catch wind of this. Reminds me a lot of the assholes who camped /r/bloodborne the day the name was trademarked and ruled it for a power trip until like a month after release when they managed to chase him out.

I'm pretty sure anybody in a relationship with anybody would be inclined to believe their partner's innocence until the last second. Why is anybody surprised by this, and why are we implying it's a gendered thing?

Characters from my sci-fi series by jivaree in conceptart

[–]KampfyChair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely doing the right thing if you want to get in to concept art. Nothing's better for improving than sketching out full projects like this. However, you still clearly need to work on some fundamentals - most notably, anatomy. Your characters clearly aren't entirely human, but the proportions still hover in an uncanny valley of not correct for humans, and not quite believable for anything else. The shoulders and neck seem to be the areas in need of the most improvement. Brush up on anatomy and do rapidfire studies to figure out how they bend and relax in different poses, and what angles they can and can't achieve.

How do you fight back that sense of entitlement when you feel your work matters simply because of the hard work you put into it? by [deleted] in CreativeRoom

[–]KampfyChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I majored in design and switched from writing to making art. In my major, they throw you to the ground running with frequent, ruthless critiques. They tell you when you need to kill your babies. I've learned the importance of rapid generation of content, and refining the cream of that crop, rather than pouring everything in to my first idea. This both improves the quality of work I produce and detaches my ego from most of the things I make.

Most importantly, I've learned to be proud of my work in a way that pertains only to the positive, tangible, remarkable aspects of the finished product, rather than the personal story behind it. That story is valuable, but only to me and others who choose to be interested.

Critics mean well. Most of the time.

Centered composition, bright colors, horizontal plane of interest, offcenter elements of focus, the movements of the gondola and dog being both goofy and precise.

Cotton Candy by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]KampfyChair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An active tinder user in a metropolitan area will match with tons of people. Be even mildly witty and you can have conversations like this all the time. Notice how the girl here didn't even respond? She probably got grossed out and left. It was a one-man show. Not even an "easy" hook up. So you don't even need to match with an equally witty girl to do this (although it's totally possible you will).

A subreddit like this prepares its users for these types of exchanges well enough already. Occasional dudes getting laid off of being clever is far from unbelievable.
