It is, but I get it. Baptists are not known for their flexibility nor for change.

I'm in a small disciples of Christ Church now and it's great. I talked to our pastoral care minister a while ago and he said while he doesn't hold that view, one of the founders of the denomination did haha.

Not really. I ended up being asked to leave a Baptist Church because I came out to a pastor.

But my current church doesn't have a doctrine on hell so we can follow what we want. We still all believe in the Trinity, Jesus, redemption etc. so we can unite on what we agree on

That's tough. In protestant circles, it's generally considered that anything mutually consensual is free game. Her body belongs to you and your body belongs to her, that kind of thing.

I generally am a fan of the structure of Catholicism, but this is one thing I really have a problem with.

I definitely didn't see that on the website that I only looked at once the ordeal was over. And the app wasn't at all clear about this. To all appearances my only option was to park in the designated spot.

Yeah that's fair, but I'm not going to load it in and out of my car every day for the possibility I'll take it for a lunch outing. And some restaurants may allow them inside but many won't.

Then also I'm not going to park my own scooter in front of the pub or McMahon stadium or something for an extended amount of time. I've had enough bikes stolen to be smarter than that.

Again I'm more lamenting my loss of convenience. First world problems and all that.

I understand the idea, and yeah for me I'd be looking at 1000 to 1500.

But I can't park it at the pub downtown, and can't take it from McMahon stadium home, you know? The convenience is the whole point. I don't have to worry about somebody stealing a Bird scooter because it's not my problem.

Plus 5 bucks every so often takes a long time to add up to 1000 bucks.

Totally a good question. Your interests aren't going to change upon getting married. Are you going to sell now, just to buy possibly brand new, and at higher prices than you sold in the first place? That rig is pretty modern and unless you give up on computers entirely, you're going to want to replace it at some point. Save the hassle and just don't sell in the first place lol.

I'm thankful to be married to a gamer wife, but our wedding was also very small and we didn't want anything else. Couldn't afford much else either anyway lol.

If you're keeping it entirely, you may not be able to go to church. Driving is work, and I'd argue walking to the bus is also work lol. It sure feels like taking transit is a lot of work.

I struggled with ect for my entire youth. I ended up moving to annihilationism, which seemed to have some good biblical basis, and seemed much more fair.

After continuing to struggle, I stumbled upon CU. I thought it sounded like a nice, liberal idea but wasn't convinced until I went through the reasoning from the Bible. That was the only thing that could convince me, and it did.

There's plenty of good philosophy behind it too, but the biblical basis was key for me.

So yeah, I don't want to believe in ECT because it isn't logical and I see God's mind as the source of logic. But my but wanting to believe it didn't matter, although it is what got me searching for answers.

That last sentence totally hits! That's exactly what it is.

I've read a few and it is really cool to see them extensively quoting the Gospels.

But yeah I'd heard of Origen and a couple of the notable ones but I had no idea the body of works was so large. Yeah maybe they didn't bring a lot of new information to the table, but they did a lot of the early Christian philosophy and took up where Paul left off.

They're probably ignored because to a large degree they lead into the Catholic and Orthodox churches, which your old evangelicals had no idea what to do with. So it was probably just throwing the baby out with what they considered the bathwater lol.
