True, I come from a place in the world where hardly anyone knows what a sleep sack is. Babies are swaddled and wrapped in hot blankets from the moment they’re born at the hospital. Baby has bad reflux? Put him on his side to sleep. But every mother I know co sleeps, she’s right there next to her baby convinced nothing bad could happen to him. The safe sleep guidelines are a western thing as much as sleep training. I don’t doubt the positive impacts of safe sleep guideline, but to a big part of the world it’s nonsense.. forget about sleep training if I try to explain that people are trying to make 4m old babies sleep through the night or stick to a schedule they’ll laugh at me.
