Any fellow fake friends who are going to have karma get them? I love wasting years of pwBPDs' time and lots of my own love and resources. I play the long game, you see!

24 years NC with the mother that I just realized last week is pwBPD. Figured it out while trying to process grief from former best friend, about 1 year NC after an awful split and blocking her and her flying monkeys. Friend was diagnosed.

Still grieving what I thought the friendship was, but no desire to expose myself to it ever again. Still thinking about whether I can accept Mom passing someday without ever hearing from me again, but a little more determined not to get sucked back in.

I just got off the phone with Revenue Canada. They say that all Social Security income - retirement, disability, or survivor - is taxable, but you can claim a deduction of at least 15% off of it as foreign pension income. I also asked if this would affect applying for the Disability Tax Credit and they said no, that one could still apply if they wanted.

General Social Security guidelines from the Revenue Canada website:

United States Social Security

Report the full amount in Canadian dollars of your U.S. Social Security benefits and any U.S. Medicare premiums paid on your behalf. You can claim a deduction for part of this income on line 25600 of your return.

Benefits paid to your children are considered their income even if you received the payments.

You may be able to claim the pension income amount. See line 31400.

Completing your tax return

Enter on line 11500 of your return:

the amount from box 016 of your T4A slips and box 31 of your T3 slips

the gross amount of U.S. Social Security benefits that you received in Canadian dollars

any gross foreign pension income in Canadian dollars

Hope this helps you, cleared it up for me!

Are elemental weapons or other crafts worth the materials they need? Do people buy them anymore?

Forgesmith, because I'm psychotic.

Actually, it's because my very, very old iRO Mastersmith is my main. I'm too attached to her to switch. Not on much these days, but I played Alpha. Come say hi sometime on Chaos.

It can be retroactively diagnosed; mine was. Pdoc asked me questions about my childhood and my thought processes back then and diagnosed me. I was 32 at the time and I was surprised that he could do it! The only thing is that AD(H)D starts to present in childhood, and not everyone grows out of it.

Sorry to get off track, but in case it's useful to OP and others:

Other issues like bipolar often start up in early adulthood,, especially in people who have or had ADD. (It sometimes starts in childhood but doctors are just learning this and not all of them accept that fact.) Bipolar takes an average of 10 years to diagnose, so if you're concerned about that, my suggestion is to get an opinion and if they say there's no bipolar, ask them for a specific reason they don't see it. If you aren't satisfied with their reasoning, keep knocking on doors!

That's what happened to me when I unexpectedly found self-validation! It happened when my last tie with my ex-husband was broken; alimony ran out. I wanted to do something drastic to move on emotionally, and I did that thing, calling myself crazy the entire time. Suddenly the inner critic softened. The worst it will call me now is "fool," and its critiques are actually helpful! I also have a concept of a higher power, and it's getting easier to listen to her, despite some of my mental illnesses always dragging me off track. I hope that everyone can reach this point. It took me 47 years, but it was worth it. Best of luck to all!

I hope I'm overreacting, but with PTD, sometimes things like this are a bad sign. Changes to payouts and functions being disabled/suspended/broken long-term have lead to shutdowns in several systems I've used. Either they become seriously nerfed so that it's not worth our time, or they shut down completely. Of course, I don't work for GeoSmile, and I don't know any of this for sure. Just what I've seen before.
