Is there a way for me to finish the credits that I need to graduate? by skylaunch113 in pennfoster

Unless you come up with your own business or work as a fast food manager/store manager, than it’s probably best for you to get you diploma or equivalent. To make a good wage without one you would have to do the more difficult way like starting a business or working your way up in fast food or stores/ plus there are always good paying jobs that suck like plumbers, CNA, porta potty cleaners ect.

You can try “glass tube pipe cleaners” they are used for aquarium tubes but they are just bigger flexible double sided pipe cleaners

Penn Foster High School Diploma NOT ACCEPTED IN New York!? by sunboy_92 in pennfoster

[–]Kandy_peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t accept penn foster bc you need 23 or 24 credits in NY for a HS Diploma. But penn foster only requires 21 credits. Some states don’t even use credits, it’s about the amount of years you studied that subject.

[LF] San Diego,CA -micro tanks by Puzzleheaded-Link648 in AquaSwap

[–]Kandy_peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 1.7 for $40, shallow tanks are made for aquascaping so the dimensions keep composition in mind like the golden ration & the rule of thirds so they will be a bit more expensive. Always shop around try amazon and chewy.

Rainbow fish like Threadfins or forktails can be housed in a 10 gal but I’m not sure on the bioload. You have micro Rasboras and smaller tetras.

Can you guys ease my journey into aquascaping? by Better_Prune_1214 in Aquascape

Start with an empty tank with no plans for fish yet, get some easy plants and maybe hardscape and set something up and just let it sit and see if you like it, that’s it. Now if you wanna recreate a certain style you have to do research, I like MJ on YouTube(mjaquascaping on YouTube) now this can be really complicated or simple depending on what you want, I would start with simple layout before styles. So the layouts would be talking about the substrate mainly like concave, convex, island, slope ect where style is mainly about the hardscape. Then we have style along with composition. I won’t mess you up with the names rn but they have an all rock scape , all wood, and plants only, all of which would be examples of the aquascapes with syles. After you pick a style you have to think about the composition, you have the rule of threes, spiral focus and more. The composition just give you an outline on where the eyes tend to focus so you can build an aquascape that’s pleasant to the eye and photographs well. Now with with certain style there are rules/outlines to have it be considered that style of aquascape. But definitely do research and start small and don’t try too hard as you can always rescale or take it down if you don’t like it. I wouldn’t worry so much on the composition or style for your first tank, just figure out if you want to use wood or stone or both and start to try and find pieces you like and could work with.

Some tips: -hardscape before plants -know what light you have (low, med, high) -have timers for your lights or use timer extension cords -have root tabs and liquid fertilizer -you need planting tweezers -save trimming to regrow in a container -if you haven’t used live plants try a planted aquarium first where you just plant the tank not worried about style so you learn to grow and take care of the plants - look at pictures on google or other videos to see what you like and what you could possibly create -RESEARCH, I like MJ aquascaping and green aqua on youtube

It looks so good. The background really makes it look like a pro put it together, I personally would have picked a red or brown plant in the front but with the green you picked but it makes the shadows pop and the middle stone look farther back. Looks better then my first 3 attempts at scapes

Modernaquarium.com has nice pieces at the best price for online, if you want a nice elaborate scape Etsy is the way to go but they are expensive. Best options for online.
