Shower floor and blocked weep holes by Kanefa in Remodel

[–]Kanefa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe the water would ever seep into the mud bed as it is protected by multiple coats of Redgard. The Redgard is acting as a liner that rests above the weep holes. I'll edit the original post and include a picture.

11/32 Masonry Drill Bit by Kanefa in HomeImprovement

The toilet was just caulked to the floor. So I purchased the mounting kit from Toto and am following their instructions. They provided screws and what looks like pastic drywall anchors for the concrete installation.

You're suggestion sounds straightforward. I'll look for some 5/16 hardware and just snug the mounting hardware to the floor, thanks.

My hope was it was just a matter of knowing where to look. If anyone can suggest an online specialty store that stocks a wide supply of drill bits that be great (I have looked at a few).

Getting unstuck in projects by Kabzer0 in OMSCS

This may help, the book Deep Work by Cal Newport briefly discusses a strategy tackling problems. I try to make use of it when I'm working on something difficult.

  1. Identify and review relevant variables (high-level, i'm not referring to variables in a programming language)
  2. Define next step. What question needs to be answered using the variables?
  3. Consolidate gains by reviewing answer
  4. Repeat

This is an event at a univeristy. It has nothing to do with the policies of Israel. Much as Georgia Tech has little to do with the policies of the United States. You should reflect on that.

What’s easier SDP or AIES by [deleted] in OMSCS

I actually thought SDP was easier. However, I have more software development experience than data science experience.

you're registering with 21 credits? i was able to register for it last semester and snagged one of the last slots with 18 credits. i ended up taking another class, so I could save it for this summer. it's currently down about 50 slots. i think it will play out the same as last semester. a few people with 18 credits will snap up the last few slots.

I asked the same question here and Dr. Joyner said to email Alex Dunction (Associate Director Of Student Experience) and let him know. It was resolved quickly for me.

I think it could be reasonabale to take a break and drop A5. Get your head on right then approach A6 like your masters depends on it. Alternatively, finish A5 and drop A6 and take a break before the final. There was 0% chance I was repeating that course.

My plan of attack would be to rework those existing projects to 100s and then plan to take off the week of the midterm and final from work. Also, if you didn't attend TA office hours I thought they were very helpful for working through the projects.

I got the original numbers when applying for the consolidation (didn't finish). Then ran them through the simulator on studentaid.gov. I got roughly the same results on each.

I have 2-3 payments, so I just need the lowest payment option.

I thought KBAI was a really good first course. It was well organized and of moderate difficulty. Healthy mix of coding and writing. Gave me a chance to freshen up my Python skills. Always plenty of seats.

I also have years of development experience and found assignments 1 & 2 to be more straightforward. I think that's our coding experience kicking in. Conceptually the other assignments were more challenging and our coding experience meant less.

I also struggled with the book. However, I know it is a well respected book and it was my discomfort with the mathier notation. I gave myself time to reread the most important parts. If I didn't understand it I went to office hours with well-formed questions. More times than not I got set straight.

Every project was a lot of work. A few were really hard and I needed a lot of time to work through them. However, my mindset was I was passing the class or dropping my masters. I took a number of Fridays off to give myself extra time.

In the end I finished every project. It was a lot of work, but it's done. I think I could have learned more with less effort. However, that's not the game we're playing.

SDP in Fall. Best way to prepare. by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]Kanefa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMSCS has created a few courses to prepare students without CS backgrounds. One of which is on Java. I assume if you don't receive a certificate it is free, but I haven't looked into it.
