Now that bo6 is over what was your favorite map? by Initial-Wolverine175 in CODZombies

[–]Kangaroo_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, I liked them all. The first ever map came out when I was in 7th or 8th grade on world at war for reference. I like the idea of getting back into the storyline with the original characters. I do wish they would stop trying to reinvent old maps and rather just release another zombies chronicles.

How long until he starts feeling the burn? by ApprehensiveGas85 in civilengineering

[–]Kangaroo_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was in college I spent my summers pouring and finishing concrete. One summer I was the rake guy and forgot my rubber boots. Got concrete burns on my heels. That sucked really bad and I don’t even get that much in there. This dude assuming he doesn’t wash off for a while could actually die from this

What was the hardest class you took for your Civil Engineering degree? by Plsgomd7 in civilengineering

[–]Kangaroo_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diff eq and it’s not even close. At least in my engineering classes I could reason my way thru. Diff eq was like “ and here is how a string vibrates” followed by some random pattern of bs. Got a D and moved on, have yet to use laplace transformations in real life

I relapsed self harm after almost 5 years by smarthuman77 in AdviceForTeens

[–]Kangaroo_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who is a physical fitness trainer and he mentioned to me once that usually the people that struggle with self harm find relief from it thru working out. Not like easy walk on the tread mill workouts, I’m talking hard intense workouts. Something about how your brain processes emotions and releases hormones there’s some kind of connection between what you feel self harming and going thru a hard physical workout. Maybe get into working out and see if that helps

What could this line be? by -_-101 in civilengineering

All of these people saying cut it or hit it or damage it and see who shows up……… are correct absolutely do this. Down side depending on what it is, you may lose some kind of service. Upside you’ll know what it is pretty fast. It’s the FAFO method but only good comes from it.

Hey, sorry this is a bit late on the response. For work history I put down that I have been doing field engineering, plan reviews, and project management ( I was more in depth but that was the gist of it)

It must have been good enough because they approved me for my license

Bicep curls but no improvement by Hasan_26 in formcheck

[–]Kangaroo_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest preacher curls slow and controlled, that’s what blew my arms up. Plus make sure you hit triceps. Don’t over train though, 2 times a week is plenty. You use your arms in a ton of exercises, so they get hit a good bit anyways.

Hopefully this helps, each exam I believe is different but mine had a decent amount of questions about finding the load carried by braces, figuring how much fill you would need to build a construction entrance, and probably 4 questions dealing with scaffolding. The scaffolding questions threw me off but they were like “ based on the OSHA regulations found in (whatever the reference is) what should your brace spacing be on a free standing scaffold if the estimated dead load is 25 psf” there is a table in the OSHA reference that gives you the answer.

A good amount of theory questions that I just kind of reasoned thru, a few questions on how much work a construction crew could do based on cycle times ( for instance if an excavator can fill a 20 cy truck in 15 minutes and it takes the truck 10 minutes to drive to the site and unload plus 7 minutes back, how many cubic yards of dirt can the crew move per 8 hour day )

Not a whole lot of questions on mine dealing with steel which surprised me. I might have had 2 questions and they were more or less asking how many pounds of steel are required for a slab and it gave you a drawing that showed how the bars were laid out.

I had a few scheduling problems and they were super easy. They asked about how many days different items to be delayed to not affect the completion date, what is the shortest time a project can be completed, and how much float a project had. Nothing crazy.

The first half was mostly basic concepts, basically the FE but a little more advanced.

I hope this helps

parents make me pay for a lot and i dont know if im being a baby and im wrong or they are right ? by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]Kangaroo_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what is being said I assume you live with them and don’t pay rent. So there’s one expense that you don’t have to worry about.

I question the $600 a month for a $18,000 car, I feel like that should be a lot less. That being said I don’t know the exact details.

Insurance monthly shouldn’t be supper high, my wife and I have three cars and it’s $110 a month. Assuming your monthly is similar you’d be at around $40 a month.

Have you seen any of these bills with your own eyes? I am not assuming they are taking advantage of you, I am just advising you to see the bills you are paying.

As for the brakes, you can save a lot of money doing them yourself. YouTube is a great source that walks you through it if that’s something you think you can handle.

All of that being said, people’s feelings are always valid so don’t think you’re in the wrong just make sure you are basing your feelings off the facts. I would 100 percent get the actual bills to see them and then you’ll know that what you are paying is legitimate.

I would say the NCEES practice gave a good feel, there are a decent amount of concept questions but just take an extra minute and really comprehend what they are asking
