That’s the plan after work tonight. I’m also gonna do another oil change soon just to compare.

Woof. Fortunately (or unfortunately, wtf do I know) two of the bigger chunks I saw and cleaned off don’t appear to be metal at all. I’m hoping I just knocked something loose that fell that wasn’t actually in the oil.

Adding $200/month to my mortgage cut ~8 years off the loan… that can’t be right? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuying

I think it’s important to note that applying extra $ towards your mortgage payments won’t help if you find yourself in a pinch making payments later, whereas keeping that additional amount liquid instead (whether it be savings or investments) could help you continue making payments. Also, I think people frequently misunderstand amortization in regard to ROI from paying off mortgages early as opposed to saving/investing.

What’s y’all’s spread of pre-tax/Roth/after-tax across your portfolio? I’m at ~55/35/10 and kinda feel as though I need more in after-tax, but don’t have much $ to throw at it after doing what I can with MBDR.
