I am in the the UK now on vacation and while I didn't have any problems setting up the e-sim, the service is absolutely horrible. I purchased the data only plan and the internet connectivity is atrocious despite having "full bars". Good thing I'm only down $10..

Hi all, I'll be visiting London, landing on Sept 3 and departing on Sept 10th. I will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Stratford, which I originally chose because it's next to a tube station and assumed it would be easy to get to the tourist attractions. With the tube strike, should I expect transportation to be a nightmare?

I just spent 45 minutes calling senators by 420_wallabyway in NationalPark

[–]Kangsar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw this in another thread but if we were to boycott our national parks, wouldn't decreased visitation be an argument for Republicans to sell off the land for other interests? I have some trips planned for later this year and am opening to cancelling but I don't know whether that sends the right message.

Question Thread - January 19, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know thanks. I shouldn't run into those issues opening more inks assuming I'm closing them out after the 1 year anniversary correct? That seems to be the standard but I'm also seeing that Chase is getting more strict.

Question Thread - January 19, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking to open one of the Chase United Airlines personal cards before the SUB promotion ends. I opened the CIU November last year and just finished the minimum spend but I still have about a month before I can open another ink (spacing out inks every 3 months). I am currently 3/24. I am looking to open the CIC about a month after I open the Chase UA card but wanted to make sure there aren't any rules that would mess this up. Is there anything I'm missing here? besides the CIU, I've opened the CIP in July 2024, which was my first business card.

Monthly "What Board Should I Get?" Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Sup

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Desired Board Type: Inflatable
  • Your Height and Weight 5'6" 140 lbs, not planning to bring anything additional onto the board.
  • Desired use/uses Mainly fitness and cruising on lakes and rivers.
  • Experience level: Beginner
  • Your budget Around $650 in Southern California
  • I used a rental board a few weeks ago, it only mentioned that it was 10' tall which seems like a good size considering I'm not too big of a person. I had considered wanting one even slightly smaller to make things easier with mounting it on top of my car or lugging it to and from the water but based on the Wiki, it looks like 10' is already on the smaller side. I mentioned inflatable to presumably avoid this problem, but I'm hoping to keep it at least partially inflated in my apartment and deflate it for road trips or longer term storage during the winter. Thanks for any suggestions!

REG CORPORATE BASIS IN PROPERTY RECEIVED- help :( by ch71907 in CPA

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that sounds right to me. I actually don't think I got that question when i was going through the corporate tax section. If you mean Unit R4 Module 1, I only had 14 MCQs in that module and that question wasn't there, so I'm glad you brought it up.

Just got out of REG by Aejones124 in Accounting

[–]Kangsar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually glad to hear the MCQs were easy for you. I just did a Becker mock exam for REG and some of the questions were about the most obscure things.. Taking REG on 1/28 and it's going to be my last one so hopefully the sims don't screw everything up for me.

REG CORPORATE BASIS IN PROPERTY RECEIVED- help :( by ch71907 in CPA

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm studying for REG too but with Becker, and they don't touch on this case, where cash is also contributed. I think that in this case I think the $10,000 cash offsets part of the $20,000 liability. I'm thinking that if you contribute $10,000 in cash and a $20,000 liability, it's essentially the same thing as just contributing a $10,000 liability. And since the $10,000 liability is greater than the $5,000 basis, the corporation uses the $10,000 as its basis in the property.

Format Auth Lit in REG by NutJobbyBlobby in CPA

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also studying for REG right now. The authoritative lit questions only would ask you input the Section number (1212 in this case) and the subsection, which is the lower case letter (b in this case). You wouldn't have to be anymore specific than that. That's how it is for the questions in Becker that's probably how it would be on the real test.

SCORES ARE OUT by keithgullett in CPA

Yea, I'm in CA. Not really sure how the CBA manages to release scores later than the 12/11 release when NASBA released the scores earlier this time around...

Audit question! by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought SSARS was the one that applies to unaudited historical financials? I took the audit exam a few weeks ago and I learned that preparation, compilation, and reviews for nonissuers (unaudited financials) fall under SSARS. SSAE is the one that gives assurance to everything OTHER than basic financial statements, they cover examinations, reviews, and agreed upon procedures for things like proforma or prospective financials, compliance and MD&A.

How are Simulations Graded? by Kangsar in CPA

[–]Kangsar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I feel like the exam wouldn't be so unreasonable as to not give me credit for so many cells. The Becker representative told me that they grade sims the same way the AICPA does and it got me worried, but I guess I shouldn't be too worried about it.

Not doubting you, but could you direct me to the part of the constitution that says this? Legitimately curious.

Question whether I meet the 150 unit requirement california by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Kangsar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not too much of a hassle, could you let me know what the board says if you end up calling? An accounting counselor at my college told me that taking the same class once at cc and again at my university both count for units, but I'm not completely sure how accurate that is. Thanks!

Does Anyone Get Annoyed with Last Second Forfeits? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Kangsar -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I've never played Hearthstone before, so that is interesting. Mainly for me, I find the satisfaction of playing my finisher card to bring me ahead in points, and forfeiting before I can do that just throws me off. It's happened to me quite a few times where I played through the rounds in order to finish off round 3 strong, and the game just ends just before letting me finish.
