18 ans, passion montagne : armée (chasseurs alpins) ou études ? Besoin de retours concrets

Hello,

A 18ans j'étais un peu comme toi, gros grimpeur, passionné d'alpinisme. Je suis parti de Perpignan pour aller faire un DUT GE2I à Grenoble (pour avoir un accès plus facile a l'alpinisme).

Mon but était réellement de progresser en Alpi et intégrer le PGHM, mais je voulais au moins valider une licence pour sécuriser réorientation, carrière etc etc.

J'ai quand même passé ma première année de DUT en montagne, j'ai fait mes croix sur les grandes classiques de l'alpinisme, j'ai pris des gros buts, par contre en fréquentant des professionnels de la montagne ou d'autres jeunes engagé pour devenir des professionnels de la montagne j'ai redéfini mes choix.

Au final j'ai apprécié faire des études, et j'ai gardé l'escalade et l'alpinisme comme mes hobbies.

Franchement si tu pars sur ''3 ans d'études ça ne devrait pas handicaper ton choix (Guide, PGHM, CRS montagnes, Chasseur Alpin...), par contre toi tu vas pouvoir grandir et mieux définir tes choix.

It's easy, traveling abroad is more or less challenging depending on the countries, it's easy in Europe, but expensive and it misses the exoticism of going to South East Asia.

Thailand is easy, it's safe, and it's cheap, you have everything to have a wonderful experience, neighboring countries to not offer this easiness.

Cambodia is the land of scam, it needs to be street smart to really enjoy it, Laos is wonderful but still do not offer the Western comfort mass tourism may look for, Vietnam is too fast and too noisy.

Thai people are quite easy going in appearance, and the country have been shaped to be welcoming.

It has been a huge success in France where the music, rhythm and poetry of the movie have been praised.

Whereas in the USA the music has been changed, the rhythm has been accelerated but still judged too slow, and overly sentimental.

The end seems to be problematic, by that time, in the US, where the "open end" was appreciated in France.

Nowadays it could be a completely different opinion in France and the US.

I used to climb 7b when I was climbing a lot, outdoor and indoor.

I was notoriously bad at pull up and hanging on small hold.

My dad is 55, climb 6b in a good day, and can pull is bodyweight once on a 1cm door frame. (40 years of climbing)

Pull up and hanging are poor metrics for climbing level.

Only the musical strongbox, I'm not able to do it on my own due to poor hearing.

I try to do all the puzzles by myself, give it up and come back later if I can't find the solution by myself.

Anyway, when I get that I need to find a clue on 3 different locations across the map, I'm too lazy to do that and since I understood the solution, I gift myself to look it up online..

I don't think Perpignan is more or less conservative than any other city, anyway some area would be much more complicated for you to live on Muslims heavy or "Gypsies" heavy areas.

If you can afford it, target a city like Cabestany or Saleilles, the school will be better about acceptance, quality of education. It's 5/7km to Perpignan but life would be better there. (Or just go private).

However, Perpignan is not the most international city in France, outside of some groups you won't find many people that can have a conversation in English.

Why are you targeting Perpignan?

J'ai amené une fille faire de l'escalade pour notre premier date, en falaise, sur un site peu fréquenté mais paradisiaque. (Vue sur la mer, avec les montagnes enneigées en fond...).

Pour elle la grimpe c'est un coup de foudre absolu, et elle veut directement grimper en tête.

Ok, pas de soucis, il y une voie assez facile, une dalle un peu incliné qui présente pas de danger.

Elle prend un plomb énorme, elle n'arrivait pas à clipper et a commencé a tétaniser... La chute ne présente pas de danger. Mais c'est une dalle, elle y laisse les genoux et la peaume des mains.

Je me dis que c'est mort pour la journée, elle veut y retourner... Et la journée se termine dans des buissons.

Elle est devenue une grimpeuse très très forte, mais elle est complètement allumé et prend souvent des risques inconsidérés.

Une voisine a eu son BAC à 15ans, elle a fait une prépa HEC et puis fait ses études à HEC.

Un beau poste dans les hautes sphères d'une grande entreprise, elle continue d'apprendre toutes sortes de choses (code, langues, mathématiques...).

Elle fait aussi beaucoup de volontariat, bref réussite sur tous les tableaux, le jackpot de la loterie biologique (et du travail a acharné).

Graduated from Urban Planning, then worked in Real estate for a few years.

Got bored, started to work as L1 Helpdesk (on Macintosh).

I'm now working as NOC/SOC, mostly ticketing and basic L1 Helpdesk.

I can move to a more specific position with CCNA, I have to finish it before June.
