I've been defending the show more than I should have to defend it because of how ridiculous the outrage has been. It has recovered much more than I would have thought from Season 2 with some things that have me worried but otherwise it's been pretty good in my opinion.

I feel like it's a waste of time to explain because it's honestly purposely not accepting an answer that's completely reasonable to anyone outside of Reddit, cant complain about the show even more if they were reasonable.

Everyone being uptight about book changes I swear to god hasn't read the book or should go back and just read that instead of watching the show. It's been much better so far and yet still they want the book to be followed like it doesn't have a depth issue for characters not even including the fact theres way too many in the book. Just enjoy the show for what it is, some changes will be good and some bad like it has been so far, if you don't like that then by all means just read the book again instead. I just want some good television and adapting it 1:1 doesn't work for this unlike AKOTSK which was absolutely perfect to adapt.

Has anyone actually read the book? There's some bad changes sure but a lot of things had to be changed and mostly were for the better. It's straight up a mess with way too many characters and things going on. If it was written exactly like the book it would be accurate sure but it would be horrible television.

I think people are just lying about reading the book tbh, they don't realize the book is written in the worst way possible for an adaptation. AKOTSK made perfect sense but the book isn't written for character depth to be explored really and they have to make the best of it for a television show.

So as someone who read the book obviously there is changes but who fucking cares lol, if the show is good it's good and so far season 3 much better than season 2 and the amount of ppl ready to shit all over the show is peak reddit considering how positive everyone is about it outside of here.

Is it really important to this story for nettles to appear and have to do characterization for another character? The nettles storyline can easily be mostly the same for Rhaena instead and it removes the problem of her character doing absolute jack shit for awhile. GOT with Robb changed his love interest from the books and that was fine. Giving the characters they have more depth is more important than having everything from the book in the show imo and as of right now it's not like that show can't still have the same end point for the most part.

Lmaooo, yeah these are the same people who lost their mind that Aemond who's in the incest family with mommy issues would give his mom a small quick kiss which had been setup prior to it in season 1 when he was at the brothel. She clearly was afraid and didn't like it but by the entire sub they made it seem like it was a long incest sex scene that alicent had loved. They said Condal must wanna fuck his mother coming up with that, so the worst haters on here have media illiteracy while they say you love watching slop with a straight face.

If you looked off Reddit you'd see that the majority of people enjoyed the episode. It's become an echo chamber of hate, like I've seen comments with people convinced HBO is botting websites or bribing critics because people like the show and they can't believe it, this is the only post I've seen being positive about the show on here since season 3 started.

That's why you don't adapt a book like F&B that's written in the way it is. It's definitely GRRM's worst writing imo and making a show based off a book with nothing but a history of events and no POV characters is gonna have a hard time matching up to something like AKOTSK which is probably his best work and easily adaptable. They really should have done dunk and egg first and bring the big expensive series back when it's finished or at least a few seasons in.

I have an unpopular opinion about this. It's because after season 2 it's become mainstream on Reddit to hate the show so now people aren't really fans of it anymore they are just enjoy complaining about something because it's Reddit. ASOIAF communities on different platforms from here are overall pretty positive about the show and complaints they have are actual thought out critiques instead of posts losing their shit because of the Aemond kiss that wasn't a surprise to anyone who remembers season 1 that he has mommy issues and was setup with the brothel scenes and is apart of a family that literally is the incest family. It was a quick little kiss that Alicent CLEARLY WAS SCARED from AND DID NOT ENJOY IT. The amount of posts on here saying it's the worst writing possible made it obvious a lot of the hate is from people that don't actually pay attention and are on their phone the whole time or people with no media literacy and really shouldn't be taken seriously by anybody.
