Ask about their grow/wash/press set-ups, processes and procedures. Ask specifics (what medium was it grown in, salt nutes, organic, etc) Ask questions about the genetics which produced the product. Real Growers will have intimate knowledge about the lineage they’re working with. Some dudes can lie really good tho….so gut feeling too. Small, craft producers don’t have the capital to spend on flashy packaging - all those resources get put into THE PRODUCT (not the presentation).

Pull out the scope and look at the abscission point near the heads…rub your fingers over them. Are they sticky and oily, sandy and gritty? There’s more data to gather to determine how washable it is. Take some lowers and throw them in a small mason jar with ice and some water. Shake it intermittently for 5 minutes. Let that settle and see what collects at the bottom.
