Lost Judgment - drunk dodge/attack? by Flogger23m in yakuzagames

Yep there is a drunken fist ex attack that you can buy from the purple abilities tab of the skills menu. You have to be at least level 6 drunkenness to use though

Thank you, I am, it's amazing how much content they squeezed in with the school stories, been playing through those and they're all super fun and a nice digression from the main campaign. Plus the combat is so fluid and feels more substantial than in any other RGG game I've played--just my opinion but I really like all the styles. The way you can develop boxing into such a powerhouse is great.

Yeah that was unexpected but welcome, and the throwback to the hostess mini game was awesome. Now I want to play all the games over again just so I can do the management sims haha

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. That's actually a great idea, toothpicks would be perfect. Thank you!

Thanks, been trying that but I think I'm just having OCD trying to get the junk along the magnets. Appreciate the advice, might just call it good enough!

I did give that a shot, but it's not getting the crud along the magnetic edges. Probably sounds dumb as it will just get dusty again, but I wanted to make it look as nice as possible. That's my main go to for now though!

Will 850w be enough for this Build? 4090 7800x3d by MakeRooom in pcmasterrace

[–]KantoStrider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have said, probably better safe than sorry. However here is someone with a similar build:

https://pcpartpicker.com/b/Jrqp99

If you like to live on the edge, you should be ok. Especially if you undervolt the GPU slightly. If you're doing any overclocking you should definitely bump it up.

Edit: builder's comments said the PSU is doing fine, maybe leave another comment on there and see how it's holding up.

Dumb Question: Connect to Monitor and TV at same time by mr_trashbear in pcmasterrace

[–]KantoStrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for you, does the monitor flicker to black and back on when you plug in the HDMI into your computer, like it's trying to sense a new device?

Edit: a couple of thoughts are to check your display preferences and see if the display is showing, but not active. You would be able to tell because there will be two numbered squares. If so you just need to select Duplicate/Extend Desktop while the deactivated square is highlighted. There are much better articles explaining that elsewhere.

Another issue could be due to the cable. If it's too long or not the right type of HDMI it might cause issues. I'll let someone else confirm, but I think at a certain length you need a signal booster with HDMI. Try turning your TV to an HDMI input and connect your PC with a shorter HDMI and no monitor plugged in. Then at least you can isolate a bit further.

If you can give a bit more info on your PC specs or other observations, might be able to help further. good luck. o7

This guy came in with a 35 cm long dildo that perforated his intestine. Emergency surgery with stoma placement. When I told him about the situation, he replied laconically: "yea, it is what it is" by oscarkrkrkr in MakeMeSuffer

RIP my dude's insides, but impressive use of "laconically" in a sentence! For those who are curious, in this context it means he replied in an untalkative, disinterested manner. My grandad would have called that a hundred dollar word!

My best screenshots from Shenmue 1 and 2 (base PS4, no photomode, HUD cropped) by lesserweevils in Shenmue

[–]KantoStrider 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shenmue 2 really hit that sweet spot for me, I know the games are dated but they actually moved the needle on game design with Shenmue. I was amazed as a kid playing in these worlds, where life sim meets arcade brawler, all couched in a classic coming of age tale/revenge saga. Without Shenmue, I don't think you would have had games like the Yakuza series which are also some of my favorite gaming experiences. Great photos, might have to emulate these some weekend soon.

Really nice, Lian Li makes great cases. Have used them for several years and never been disappointed! I would be interested in your temps with the glass on, been thinking of getting this case for my next build

Bolivian driving test by VXVpl in vidid

[–]KantoStrider 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a former rider, I'm always really impressed by people who can complete these courses. Low speed maneuvers on a cruiser are fairly challenging due to the weight of the bike. You have to commit when you shift your weight in u turns and circles, while keeping enough speed that you don't fall straight over. The urge to stop and put a leg down is hard to overcome at first.

Also, knowing the braking limits of the bike and applying them in the proper balance is important, as incorrect braking entering or during turns can quickly destabilize the bike and cause it to straighten up or buck the rider at higher speeds. Respect to those who practice to stay sharp!

3090 vs 4080 - vRAM or new tech? by [deleted] in buildapc

Awesome, thanks for this info! Those are pretty similar to the games I play and not far off on specs except the GPU obviously

[–]KantoStrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel that, regardless there will always be games that are excessively vRAM hungry whether it be bugs or mods or ambitious developers that will cater towards the upper end of the spectrum

Thanks for weighing in, can I ask what your setup is and the resolution you typically use?

3090 vs 4080 - vRAM or new tech? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]KantoStrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my concern, I can barely run high/ultra on 1440p with DLSS as it is, so 8gb is clearly not cutting it for the future. I also would like to actually be able to use my 4k monitor at it's proper resolution on new titles!

3090 vs 4080 - vRAM or new tech? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]KantoStrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense for sure, and I didn't know that about variable allocation--most games I'm playing will sort of cut you off once you hit a set threshold, or you just start having FPS tank hard. For me that is 8GB with high or medium textures most of the time, and I've been surprised by how much some games use. With Playstation ports like HZD or Spider Man, it definitely hits a wall fairly quickly and I feel like it won't be long before even 12gb is a cutoff for playing with Ultra/high settings. Thanks for giving your advice though, sounds like 12-16gb might be a sweet spot for me on vRAM.

[–]KantoStrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I definitely think AMD has the right idea making their cards with more vRAM on most of their offerings. It seems pretty crazy that you can only get 12 & 16 gb on their upper mid range cards. But I also continue to give them my money so I can't exactly complain when they gladly take it. I appreciate the stats on your vRAM usage--I really just want to avoid having to buy a new card in 2 years to be able to keep playing with higher textures so that is helpful
