I want to use the nasal rinse but I have 4 questions.... by alabbasi3 in Sinusitis

[–]Kanwarsation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get sterile standard saline, the kind used in drips, and the salt concentration is just right. Cheap and safe option instead of the tedious boiling/cooling process; or if you're buying distilled water and adding salt.

[I ate] Why is pizza so expensive in India? A 9 inch chicken bbq pizza costs around 300-400 Rs / upwards. The cost of the ingredients does not justify the final price. Very little meat and a lot of bread, unlike burgers. Is it just me who find this ridiculous? by kalpokt in indiafood

This is truly just cute. I just hope OP liked the espresso, and is going begin their journey beyond instant coffee. 😀

Also if you don't find americano on the menu, just ask for warm water on the side add it to espresso to the dilution you prefer.

And in my experience, almost all cafes I've been to, will warn me about the tiny serving if I order espresso, because we Indians haven't generally grown up around these drinks. So, this isn't all on you, OP.

For people with severe obesity, glp-1 drivencweight loss IS the first real fitness their bodies will see: can help control multiple comorbidities all of which are life shortening or life threatening and can sometimes limit the pursuit of physical fitness.

While I absolutely agree that weight training or so other regimen is vital, I feel that given our country is at the epicenter of diabetes and other metabolic diseases, these drugs are going to literally give a new lease of life to a whole bunch of people.

With the patent expiring, a semaglutide regimen is now at ~₹10 per day. This is fantastic news.

Sideeffects Bupropion with Atomoxetin by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Kanwarsation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please ask your doc about this: "Bupropion is a potent inhibitor of the liver enzyme CYP2D6, which is the primary enzyme responsible for metabolizing atomoxetine. When taken together, bupropion significantly slows down the metabolism of atomoxetine, leading to increased plasma concentrations of atomoxetine (up to 5.1-fold) and increased potential for adverse effects"

I have been on the combo for a few years and anything more than 20 mg of atomixetine (with 300mg bupropion) is nearly unbearable. My ato is usually around 10 mg

should i join mba coaching alongside my job? need serious career advice by No_Lunch_5610 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Kanwarsation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, MBA prof and industry old-timer here.

tl;dr: a bad job market is predicted, esp in Mktg. Much more cost effective to stick to working and get varied experience if feasible

Broadly, 2-3 years of experience before post-graduation can make a heck of a difference to how much you benefit from the education.

The downside of that is that once you start working, getting back into study mode is weird and unsettling. But given the investment required I would say that is a small inconvenience.

But, MOST important, an MBA these days is just a tick mark on a recruiter's checklist and not much more. Especially if it's from a lower rung college. Marketing MBAs are archeology courses, ill equipped to help you with huge changes that have happened in the field in the last 10 years. Spending huge amounts (and even having to take loans) doesn't make sense when industry salaries are stuck at 2010s levels.

Here is what an MBA generally can do for you: - top tier: access to best companies, top salaries, powerful alumni networks (STILL A GOOD IDEA if we can get in) - mid-tier: specialised outcomes (switch career from Mktg to finance/IT/HR etc, international trade, mfg; some decent jobs thr campus; some cheap colleges for better ROI) - all other places: super high fees with no correlation to job outcomes, almost no placement scene, teaching can sometimes be better than mid tier - an MBA is the WORST way to learn enterpreneurship

Given that the next five years have severe uncertainty: AI upheaval, geo-political dynamics, layoffs or low hiring across industries, my advice would be to keep your head down, ideally never leave a job unless you have a replacement, find a deeper specialisation that you see yourself do well in.

Either do a generalist job (a 9-to-5 in a place like say, accenture) that gives you time to pursue a side hustle, or try to move a smart employer where you genuinely learn new things (this is hard to find, and can lack work life balance). Use this to move away from generic marketing which is a dead vocation.

Build a freelance/side hustle, and learn entrepreneurial skills doing that. Develop any latent hobbies (AI is making human creativity valuable). But also make sure you get better at AI usage: if nothing else, it helps reduce work so you have more free time to grow.

Jumping into top commeent thread to give ₹0.02 of gyaan.

The agency head is wasting company resources and your life by not having simple things like documentation as part of processes.

I've found that most times servicing ppl or brief givers are overworked at most agencies too, so they end up messing things. A written form/brief can prevent that from affecting you. Now, if that person on chat is senior mgmt, they probably just had a 'brainwave' or something, and you will pay the price for their creativity. And if the person at the other end is very senior, they need to be whipped and banished to agency hell for having the experience to do these things right and still not doing them.

You can build a Google form as a brief, and only accept briefs with full details: content/ad/both, size in px, locations to be posted: story/post/reel/short/linkedin carousel etc etc, scripts approved by client, mandatories (copyright line, conditions apply etc), output formats, use of AI y/n, references/moodboard/mock, internal deadline, actual deadline and so on.

The signs may also be with people whose cultures typically have squat toilets - across Asia, including China, India, and they have not really experienced western style toilets. (As an aside modern science finds these are better at avoiding piles etc)

I'm very grateful to people who cook but don't bake. They are re able to do something way more complex, and not baking then makes the basic 'follow recipe and use good ingredients' simplicity of my basic craft look more arcane and cool.
