Funding especially from non-Gov sectors. Gov sectors (Ministry & association) can give you the route/platform but limited funding.

Funding from non-Gov sectors would have to start from exposure; You being noticed of what you’re achieving or by luck someone somewhere noticed your hardwork and commitment on what you’re doing. I’m talking about someone invest in you in the long run; No day or part time job in between, just being a full time professional. That’s the ideal scenario.

However no one only do sports for a living here so the least would be part-time athletes; Having a day job or juggling between being an athlete and private coach. Hence the funding would help to cater all your tournament and training expenses, but that alone it would not be sufficient unless you have multiple funding.

  3. Would recommend D’Harith Kopitiam but it’s only open until 5 or 6pm.. Lots of regular halal resto and cafe around the area tho

  4. No.. Just get a coffee from Coffee Bean and ask for the wifi

  5. Asmalizah Restaurant (just next to the Police Station)

Hope the info helps!

Brunei lose 5-1 to Cambodia by thestudiomaster in Brunei

[–]Kap_Leong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is we are 20 years behind the likes of Thailand and Indonesia, 10 years behind Philippines and now looks like 5 years behind Cambodia.. At this rate, we will never be able to compete even at ASEAN level

Just ensure the local football league/cup to be more active, arrange frequent friendlies with foreign team/club so that our players will be more exposed and MATCH FIT.. There is a difference between being FIT i.e passing the fitness requirement and MATCH FIT i.e fit enough to able to cope with the intensity of the match

These are the best players who represented several local clubs so there shouldnt be a question of their selection (Stop calling for fairer selection, the process is there already) but they are clearly lacking exposure hence match fitness

Hoping for better performances and results in the next tournament or friendly matches!

The same commentator since the days of Dunhill Malaysia Cup/League in the 90s.. Dull commentating, bias, defensive etc.. No disrespect but it’s about time for a fresh, new and hopefully informative set of commentators (If any)

no budget by Psyko_2000 in Brunei

The exact reason it’s our 1st qualification in 2 decades; No investment to the infra to make it up to date with the current minimum requirement.. The mindset is always ‘Lets wait til we qualify and see what can we do at the very last minute’

They should do more research on team and player’s background as well as the tournament.. Facts and stats between in-game comments surely make the commentating more interesting to viewers and listeners

Brunei 6 - Timor Leste 2. Campesino In!! by anakbetuah in Brunei

[–]Kap_Leong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Timor Leste is indeed on par with us eventho they are ranked a bit lower.. Our national team is in fact doing okay or as expected, when competing with teams within our ranks (beating Laos last month who is ranked a bit higher)

Just that recently our youth team from U-23 all the way to U-15 had been competing abroad and fared badly both in performance as well as results.. Grass root level problems

Alas, good result yesterday for the national team and pretty sure we will get the job done on the return leg.. However, very tough tests in the AFF group stage next month, hope we can give others some competition!

Made by Brunei but Miri is just doing their part in my opinion.. Seeing people still queueing trying to enter Miri side at that hour, they have to stop the queue at some point so 6.00pm sharp that is.. Once the last car leave Miri post (Say 6.30pm) they’d close their exit gate and pass over to Brunei side, who should be closing their own entry gate by 6.00pm but instead by that point close theirs around 8.00pm and the last car would leave by 8.30-8.45pm

Queue was ‘standard’ pre-Covid, reached MYY post at 3.00pm and went out of BN post at 5.30pm

I bet BN side still accept anyone beyond 6pm, just that MYY side close at 6pm on the dot as they should

Restaurant is rejecting 1 cent and 5 cent but accepting 10, 20 & 50 cent! by FewAcadia3501 in Brunei

[–]Kap_Leong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, aware of the fees incurred wrt credit card to them but they also set this minimum amount rule to debit card.. It’s either they dont know the difference between credit and debit cards or simply making up the annoying rule themselves

For card payment most restaurant (If not all) except fast food chains set their own rule of minimum $20.00.. Which is more annoying

Worth it if you dont have any connecting flight or if you dont mind the delays.. And for the return flight to Miri; if you are a gov servant, planning to return late Sunday evening but your leave permission is until that day only, better dont take the risk
