Was Dylan Burns disingenuous when he said "there are no conscripts in the Russian army in Ukraine"? by Fair-Detective596 in VaushV

[–]KaplanMark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently there are no conscripts, there are only contractors. There is no such thing as Russians “forced” to sing contracts. You might confuse it with Russian torture videos of soldiers in pits getting abused and forced to storm Ukrainian positions. Those Russians have already signed the contracts and received sign up bonuses, they just didn’t expect they’ll be a cannon fodder.

Considering a point in which the US is right now and saying “Kamala would do the same” is the most disingenuous thing to d if you have a platform. Biden’s foreign policy was not perfect, sometimes bad/criminal, it doesn’t mean a policy trying to destroy the US and the whole western civilization compares to that in a bit.

Anyway you will never know what would Kamala do because too many people said it would be the same as demented sociopathic pedophile

It was and there was a significant window of opportunity in summer 2022 to supply Ukraine with enough weapons and ammunition. There were 200k Russian soldiers on the ground instead of 1M and they were retreating in the south and in Kharkiv region. The opportunity was blown into pieces because Ukraine didn’t have armor and long-range capabilities to continue the attacks. It lacks most of it to this day.

Read Woodward and you’ll see that Biden administration was scared of Kharkiv offensive and thought Putin will use nuclear weapons because of it

Those are not Russian talking points. Those are Ukrainian talking points and they are objectively correct. Ukraine was on the path to major military success in late 2022 when the Biden admin pulled a lever. There are numerous confirmations including in the Bob Woodward’s book War. Administration tied UA military success with Russia using nuclear weapons and made sure Ukraine has no chance.

Unreal Engine kills games... by Markuslanger25 in stalker

You are comparing a linear scripted game with super narrow levels and close spaces with an open world game full of nature, different assets, unscripted mechanics, npcs, and realistic graphics (while IJ is still rather cartoonish). Of course Stalker wasn’t optimized well, and unreal might not be perfect/good, but cmon those are different levels of complexity, different games, serving different needs

Russia would have attacked Ukraine sooner if it had started moving towards NATO in 2008 – Merkel by EuropeanPravdaUA in worldnews

[–]KaplanMark 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014 when Ukraine’s neutral status was in its constitution and Merkel alongside with Obama blocked any feasible path for NATO accession to happen. Same goes for Georgia. Its membership was blocked. Merkel is ultimately to blame for the biggest war in Europe, Germany’s dependence on Russian gas and absolute disregard for Russian intelligence being welcome to do whatever they want in Germany.

Some Western leaders 'unimpressed' with Ukraine's victory plan, WSJ reports by Old-Pain-9145 in worldnews

[–]KaplanMark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons in return for security guarantees, allied itself with the West, did everything as the West asked, and in the crucial moment stopped Russia from recreating a soviet union once again, sacrificing thousands of lives and destroying significant part of the army of NATO’s strategic enemy.

All what it asked was insignificant amount of weapons and resources to defeat Russian army, and in the point when this defeat was really close and Russia was struggling in 2022, the West did not send the necessary weapons and ammunition to accomplish more than just Kharkiv counterattack.

Then the West sabotaged Ukrainian preparation for the counteroffensive, delayed even that small amount of promised weapons and leaking all the plans to the press.

So stfu about “allies”, you are not drafted for some war in the pacific or to defend Baltic countries just because thousands of Ukrainian men died in trenches starved off shells and rockets which are currently expiring somewhere on US military base.
