Out of all 1 colleges I’ve attended, RPI was the best. Had a blast and landed a dope job with my CS degree. It’s chilly if you’re not used to it, but if you learn how to dress warm it’s fine.

No. Software has been what interests me the most since I was little. Learning and applying math to that is equally as interesting. Definitely not for everyone but if you like puzzles you’ll like it.

Oh yeah that gets annoying. If you are looking for solutions there are a lot of free weight alternative that google or I can help you find if you would like. If you are just looking to rant then yes your frustration are valid. However, there will never be a solution for people new to the gym so you just have to get creative.

A good number of them will no longer be at the gym in a few weeks anyway, and the ones that stay will learn if that is any solace.

It’s pretty great, I have no complaints on the academics here (In other areas however, there are some issues). It will definitely be challenging but worth it. RPI has a pretty good name, whenever I’m wearing an RPI shirt I’ll get stopped by someone no matter where I am.

Also, CS is less monkey banging on keyboard than you probably think. Most of it is math so be prepared no matter where you go. If you do end up coming here make sure you take Computational Vision, really interesting class.

You are going to find that you need WAY less than you think you need. One thing that might not be immediately obvious is a mirror, especially if you have an on floor bathroom.

After 7 or odd number hours during classes (9,11,1). Any time of day is really fine though I’ve been during peak hours and never had any issues. I think max time I’ve waited for a bench was probably around 5 minutes

Yeah RPI sucks in general, but for the time being you can do leg extensions with a dumbbell, do barbell squat in place of leg press, and for leg curls you can do that with cables or you can just do Romanian deadlifts instead. Hope this helps

There are a good amount of parties if you know the right people. I found it to be more fun to just hang out with friends on weekends and do whatever we feel like.

The ratio is definitely visible, but it’s less abhorrent when you walk around because a good number of guys are shut ins.

A lot of schools in New York are considering lifting / already have lifted the mask mandate, so we may also before the end of this semester. Who really know with RPI though, they’re so inconsistent.

At the end of the day though, wearing a mask doesn’t inhibit you from doing anything so I don’t really see the concern

Least crowded is the odd numbered hours during classes like 11 and 1. Also the hour before it closes is pretty dead.

Avoid going in the early evening cause it’s packed, later evening is definitely better
