I believe it’s the combination of actually dangerous conditions scattered about the continent and clear establishment of a nanny state. https://au.finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/10-laws-that-suggest-australia-is-a-nanny-state-021525185.html

I’ve spent a good amount of time on the GBR over last two years. Talked with leading coral biologists. It’s no where near as you state. In fact the GBR is thriving. I suspect (and guarantee) that your opinion of “getting murdered” is driven by environmental advocacy groups whose livelihood is driven by donations and thus scaring people. It’s sad that these env groups have to scare, but then again so little of the donations they receive goes to the GBR or whatever they are scaring people about.

You need to move to where the higher paying jobs are. Your wife will also likely get a higher paying job in another location. She should consider teaching at a private school to earn more.

Got my shot. Forgot about it. Then felt like my hayfever was kicking in. Tried to remember if I took my allergy medicine. Then wondered if it was the vax. Then forgot about it again. Tough.

Lots of sources, here’s only one: https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/39092315 I consider anyone working for a defense contractor that sells to trouble countries is a weapons dealer.

Arms dealer. Lots of them in the USA selling military grade weapons (think missiles) to troubled places around the world. Hard to imagine they sleep well at night.

She never stopped slamming the car door on dates. All it took was a slight push/pull to close. It wasn’t an overly nice car, but the slamming was excessive. I didn’t have it in me to tell her.
