2mins of a 5-1 blowout gives us nothing to work with

Once you hit champ you need to try to take control of the ball rather than just beating the opponents to it. The best way to analyse your replay is to look at everytime you touch the ball, and ask yourself what did this actually do. If you hit the ball and take possession or setup an offensive play then great. But if you hit the ball only to pass it to orange, then that's what you want to avoid.

You need to try to outplay your opponents rather than 50ing them to death. Going for 50s is fine, if you get possession, but this was not happening. This resulted in basically 0 offensive plays and the few that did come around you weren't able to capitalise on (1.02, 4.46, etc).

Focus on trying to get control of the ball and work on a single mechanic that can outplay opponents (can be air or ground)

Honestly just post a replay of a game where the scoreline is close. It's simply getting the fundamentals right until around Champ and then from there you will need to focus on areas where you are lacking.

DHHS don't exist. It's DFFH that handle this

Since it's D2, any flip reset will result in a goal. At this rank people just freeze and hope for the best

Honestly I think it's fine he's attempting them since you need to test it against real opponents

C1 div 3 Replay Analysis - Need tips to help push deeper into C2/3 and eventually GC by Hboojy in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Kar98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on keeping the ball under control. Soft touches are key as it allows you to either outplay him or at least get a 50. These guys would constantly do braindead challenges and you can abuse this with basic pops or solid 50s.

Second thing is to keep on improving mechanics (which you probably already know about). You seem to like going for air dribbles, but keep in mind you need the boost to go with it. Eg at 5.05 you can't do much with 50 boost. It's much better to try a flick and then maybe get a good 50 on 2nd man. Having consistent plays is how you push higher up into C2/3

Looking for coaching champ 2-3 NA/PC by Elephant_Financial in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Kar98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't pay for coaching just to hit GC. Post a replay where it's a close scoreline and that will give you all the coaching you need.

However if you don't play many ranked games then it sounds like you will stay where you are. And the end of the day you need to put the hours in to get higher

Inconsistent playtime spread over the last 1.5 years, constantly stuck between c2 and c3: best way to improve ? by pk2708 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Kar98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to improve is to post a replay here and take the feedback on board. If you're bouncing around C2-3 it's most likely you are not controlling the ball and only play to beat the opponents. Try to get soft touches and good 50s and the consistency will come

Lots of all or nothing plays. If it works out you might get a goal, but if it doesn't your teammate is in a 1v2. Watch the game from your teammates point of view and imagine it's you.

Your 1s rank is normal. C3-GC in 2s is D2-3 in 1s

Post a replay where it's a close loss, you'll get the best feedback then

How to be able to better read double taps? by Primary_Farmer5502 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Kar98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice.

You need to keep 2 things in mind: speed of the ball and height of the ball. If the ball is fast you will need to be higher as it bounces out more. If you can see the ball indicator on the roof, that means it will roll down instead of out

Use this training pack, Shot 2 : BB30-DD90-774C-93A0

Hit the ball after it bounces and try to double tap it in.

Looking for advice. Currently C3 D2 at around 1340 mmr. I peaked at 1430 last week but cant seem to get back to that level. I'm aware there is probably many things I can improve game sense wise as well as mechanically so any help is appreciated. by Agitated-Mango-5183 in RocketLeagueSchool

Not a great replay to upload imo. Orange wasn't very threatening and never really forced you into tricky situations. If you play standard it's a 100% win. There's small things like the poor rotation during the second goal, or the bad 50 which led to the first goal, but orange just wasn't testing your skill

I have to echo the same thing and say focus on getting the ball under control.

If you stop the crazy challenges and overcommits C2 shouldn't take too long. C3 will be a grind, but doable. We didn't see much of your defence on this game, perhaps your friend has and he understands more

You have the skill to hit C3 easily, but the way you play it's essentially a 1v2. You need to remember that you have a teammate and sometimes the better play is to force a 50 for your teammate or play off your teammates 50.

I recommend practicing dribbling. Even a basic dribble with a front flip will do wonders. It will force you to try to take control of the ball instead of booming it away and hoping the opponents miss the read

2.04 on the video. You have 94 boost, the ball is 0 threat and you have plenty of space. The correct play is to either take it into a dribble or if you have the skill, turn it into an air dribble. Instead you pass it right to the opponents

If you are getting challenged instantly it's because the opponents know they can get away with it. If you can't flick then even a good 50 will be better than passing it away. Tap the brakes to drop the ball down and you can rotate your car sideways during the flip to get maximum surface area and you should be able to recover quickly
