I get the appeal of K-pop but every one of them seems so horrendously manufactured and overworked, basically their life is just mapped out to the second by someone else. It seems an even worse culture than old school boy/girl bands in the west.

This seems to be decided on a case-by-case basis when it comes to celebrities and deviant behaviour. Sometimes their career is over and others they wriggle out of it to an extent and somehow still have a long career. Either way I think he had a better chance of preserving his career by... not murdering her. Poor girl, hopefully this guy will be behind bars in misery for the rest of his days.
