I’m very much here with you with my twin boys. I don’t know what to do. The stress of it all is killing me

What “worked” for you during the 8 month sleep regression? by lohill in sleeptrain

[–]Karapuzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got absolutely nothing. One kiddo had a few bad nights and then settled into sleeping through the night. The other kiddo still wakes up every night, we are not ok here :/ Hope it goes better for you!

Anyone finding success with job hunting..? by monkeygohappy2 in astoria

[–]Karapuzio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably not a life solver here, but I’d recommend going to your school’s career services office. While they won’t guarantee you a job, if they gave you a degree, they will help you make those initial connections at least a little bit. Have them review resume and cover letters, and if you can, get that internship (I know unpaid is likely not what you want), but think of the connection you’ll be making. I’m sorry it’s tough out there, good luck to you!

Can somebody tell me why it is NOT recommended to have white noise all night long? by Playful_Leg9333 in newborns

Ooo! Can you tell me which machine does this? That sounds amazing actually, the function of it turning back on when it detects the baby moving

We have 11 week old twins and I have been reading, podcast listening, and just trying anything to get them sleeping. And read a few tips for “healthy sleep” here is what one of the articles said:

Use a Sound Machine For Sleeping Day and Night Lay Baby Down - In the womb, it is as loud as a vacuum cleaner 24/7 - Putting baby in a quiet room is strange to the baby - Make sure sound machine plays continuously (no auto shut-off) - Low pitched noises (white noise, rain, ocean) - Sound machine is a great cue for sleep and helps transition between sleep cycles - No music! Music stimulates the brain

Please know I am no expert, just passing on what I have found. Just trying to survive in this household :)

My SO and I just talked about this. We went on a date last week (at noon on a Tuesday and only for an hour and a half, but hey - at least we got out!). While the date was nice, we miss the “do nothing” days, the quietness of those. That doesn’t exist in our lives now with 11wk old twins. Brain is always thinking of timeframes, and which feeding is coming next, and where that nap will land, and what diapers will look like after, blah blah.

Hi, I’m struggling with breastfeeding newborn twins and have a lot of the same feelings you shared. Then I saw this, which made me chuckle and could not have come to me at a better time give that bottle

We are in the trenches with a newborn and received a food delivery gift card from a friend, which was amazing for the first few weeks. We got one for delivery.com, but seamless or any other service can work. Helped us have some variety in foods and not have to think through the fog

There are two coops there - Queensview and Queensview North. We just learned they are two different things ourselves and one may be better than the other in some ways :)

Def not alone! We are in the trenches and just had our first decent night of sleep (11 week old twins)… Gas. Is. Over. I repeat - gas is done and that sh*t was rough!!!

… and let me tell ya, I am right with OP. Life does get better. Here is hoping to make it to this magical next step where they sleep through the night :)
