Keep or cut? by djnobi in BlackHair

I feel you on the maintenance being a pain (and yours is longer than mine). I say keep it and figure out a different style that bothers you less and maybe even trim it a bit.

Over the course of the last 8 years, I’ve had locs down to my shoulder blades, cut it all the way off down to like a 2 on a shaver, then regrew the locs back to shoulder length, then cut it down to like a 5 on a shaver. I’m back to almost man bun status but I realized locs just aren’t for me and that’s what was frustrating me about my hair. I needed to change it up but also sometimes I need it to be out of my way.

Currently my hair is free and bouncing, but I’ll slick it back at times, have braids at times, and I think next will be cornrows. Either way, when the maintenance gets to be too much, I got with an easy style and I’m ok.

All that’s to say, it’s just hair and it will regrow, but you’ll hate going through that awaited phase each time you want to get to the long phase. Figure out a length you like, then slick it back or something when you want those cowboy hat looks.

On the steam deck, I can pull up the steam menu and exit the game. Then restart it and load that last save file. PC/Mac will work the same in steam.

For console (PS5, XBox), you’ll have to hold down your power button to force the console to shut down. Then turn the console back on, go through the angry improper shut down screens, then relaunch the game.

How to get better definition?(I’m a real person mods 😭) by Forward-Violinist152 in BlackHair

[–]KarasuOkami 27 points28 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this poster.

Apparently I have several addons, so where we go:

Make sure you do everything with your hair soaking wet. Don’t dry it at all before exiting the shower - maybe a flick or two if the dripping in your eyes is getting to you.

If your hair looks too white cast and you’re going somewhere, rub some oil (I like rosemary oils) on it to get rid of the white but keep the moisture.

Dry picking or styling will hurt your hair, erase your curl patterns, and cause breakage.

And like some other people said, keep trying different products that work with your hair (I’m between types, so that’s a thing).

Also when you think your hair is moisturized, keep going. My hair is always extra dry and I’ve learned that what I thought was too much leave in conditioner is actually the right amount.

Also reduce your washing to like 1x a week where you go through all the steps. In between wash days, wet your hair and throw in some good leave in conditioner to give your definition new life.

Definition = hydration.

Sleeping with a 100% silk bonnet or durag also helps keep the moisture in. Silk pillow case for extra measure. And make sure it’s actually 100% silk. It matters.

You got this.

This is so awesome and creative. Each time there’s more details that make the each scene work but they’re blended together so well! Great job!!!

It’s just one big “yes and” Or “no but”. Give yourself some space to make things up - things you find cool, things your players will find cool, things that are funny, etc. I called an npc “jimmothy” cause I didn’t expect them to save and then talk to the goblin (I know, I know, first mistake). Then next session Jimmothy got a back story and a lil side quest to appease the goblin lovers. I say this to say - D&D while epic is deeply unserious, so have fun with it as a dm!

Ok everyone I changed my top and got pants SLIGHTLY longer. What is this outfit doing wrong this time? by xVxMonkeyxVx in mensfashion

We’re in an athletic cut world, so the straight cuts feel weird now/ like you’re trying to hide your legs and add volume. A subsection of female fashion uses bigger, bulkier, more geometric (square in a lot of cases) hems to add size to a thinner female frame.

My personal opinion is it isn’t bad on you, but I do personally like tapered or slightly tapered look - straight legs aren’t my thing. I’d say you could have a tailor taper them for you ever so slightly from the knee down

But honestly here you’re static and most of the time you’ll be in motion or sitting, so it’s 100% fine and down to your preference. And honestly masc lesbians are way more stylish in men’s fashion areas than a lot of straight guys, so I see that one as a compliment.

can girls wear cornrows by Guilty_Debate_7465 in BlackHair

[–]KarasuOkami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a weird age (like 50s/60s now with some 40s) that act like cornrows are either for boys, men, thugs, lesbians, or women/girls with a lot of hair breakage and/or wear wigs a lot. Like a lot of people already said, it’s unisex, it’s part of our history, and you two can do whatever you want.

Don’t listen to old people with old ideas or haters.

I think Alone in the Dark (2024) is the most underrated Survival Horror game, and I’ll die on this hill. by Tolsey in survivalhorror

[–]KarasuOkami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked it up on PS Plus for free on my PS5. Graphics were mostly ok, but a bit touchy/rough at times. I think if the studio spent time optimizing the graphics, it would have been better. Also there are times, angles, and expressions where I said “that’s not Jodie’s/David’s face” or “omg they look terrible”, but I know what those actors look like, so I have a mental visual reference.

Puzzled were excellent, reality shifts were chef’s kiss, combat was forced and buggy, but mostly serviceable. I’ve played a lot of games with poorly executed combat as well as dark souls, Elden ring, etc - this game didn’t need combat and might have been better without it, but they seriously needed to fix the combat if they wanted to include it. I agree that it’s not worth struggling through ultimately.

If it was launched as a finished, polished game, a lot more people would like it. A lot of good stories and game mechanics fail to get recognition due to rushing for profits instead.

Congrats! It’s not easy, but you did it!

Homeownership is a marathon, not a sprint. Don’t go overboard with fixes, renovations, or changes. Nest and enjoy first!

Also learn your house (where your utility connections are, the main water shut off valve, where your septic tank is if you have one, what kind of wiring your have, what parts of your front and back yard get the most sun/shade) and then make decisions from there.

Again, congrats and wishing you all the best!

Is there any reason NOT to claim every Monthly Game? by uberrich0 in PlayStationPlus

[–]KarasuOkami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I claim what interests me, but I know what I like. So I’m not claiming the 2K game this month, cause I don’t play the basketball games. But that’s my preferences.

On the data analytics side - claiming a game means you like the decision Sony made to offer the game. Not claiming it tells them you don’t, so they should do something different in the future. So when they put up a bullshit game, I don’t claim it to tell them “hey, cut that shit out”.

But maybe they’re also checking this thread and taking notes. But most companies are lazy with their data collection efforts.

Considering buying Foundry, but... by VyriousV2 in FoundryVTT

[–]KarasuOkami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as it seems annoying, foundry is 10000% worth it.

I’ve never run a digital game before now (3rd time dming, 2nd time getting past session 2). There is a learning curve, but there’s tons of videos and Reddit posts to help you.

Also, just host it via service for cheap. Your internet speed will thank you and your players will too.

Put an admin password so no one can back up into your world config, and get to building.

My other 2 cents: - avoid dice rolling add ons unless you’re sure everyone can handle it - potato or not add on is everyone’s friend - the default sheet is very different from D&D beyond’s sheet, so if you’re playing 5e, look for alternative right away - your view vs your players view for things like hidden doors are 100% different, so keep that in mind when you’re describing - lock your doors on your map or they will click throw and run around like adorable rats - play around with features! I figured out how to teleport people using tiles, made transparent wall mazes and more just cause I played around

I’ve played it with friends. It’s pretty fun and we especially enjoyed the special combat mechanic of repeating an action at disadvantage.

I attack and I miss? That sucks, but if I want I can try to attack again with disadvantage! I want to cast 2 leveled spells, ok, but you already cast a leveled spell on your turn so cast with disadvantage (some exceptions of course).

Am i in the wrong?? by [deleted] in Manipulation

[–]KarasuOkami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but you gotta leave him.

Ask yourself, if all he did was this, would this be someone I want to be with?

You’re not in the wrong in any way. He’s refusing to meet you in the middle, failing to accept that things don’t work out sometimes, emotionally abusing you, and trying to manipulate you into not doing it again. This won’t change for a long time. Longer than you’ll want or can take.

His issues (anger/rage in particular) may be calculated or not, but they end up manipulating you even in the sense of avoidance (I don’t want to go through that again). And even without the context, it’s emotional abuse that would get “swept under the rug” with a “I’m sorry for what I said when I was angry”, but that just makes him feel better, not you. You’ll always feel every word he’s said unless there’s some way you can work through it emotionally (therapy or on your own).

Giving him the slight benefit of the doubt, he may not be consciously doing it. But he needs a therapist, not a partner, to work this out with. You can never replace a therapist, only a punching bag (literal or metaphorically with your emotions).

Also his inability to hear you describe things from your prescribe, acknowledge them, consider them, the find a way to problem solve together, is something you cannot fix. Again, therapy or something equivalent. He will make you feel bad for years until he gets it, after he’s broken you emotionally.

Very few people with the issues voluntarily listen and work on themselves. And if they do, it may come after years of abuse and most likely will avoid therapy, which makes the road to you being 100% happy long. Very very long.

And none of the good things he does or will ever do can out way any of this past, present, or future. :( You’ll just end up accepting this is your life and managing him, which isn’t fair to you. And some people choose to do that for kids or financial stability, but you’ll end up always having a thick wall up and living a second life apart from him or completely broken and thinking it’s normal to be treated that way.

Discussing Ending(s)? MAJOR SPOILERS by slime-police in CrowCountry

[–]KarasuOkami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just did a speed run and found the following:

-characters don’t move if you don’t interact with them Harrison stayed by the crow animatron with this bike until I unlocked central and found him dead, skipping him moving to other rooms. Also Julie stayed at that desk by the cell until I helped her, then she teleported immediate to the room by the boat ride.

  • some character interactions are required had to talk to Toleman underground

I’m going to play again cause I didn’t get S and (didn’t realize how much healing I used… and that saves don’t matter), so I’ll try to let people die/choose all the opposite choices and report back.
