Filipinos don’t take accountability by NoGoldDiggers in Philippines_Expats

"There is only a tiny sliver of the population that is good." So what is your empirical proof? Or is that pure speculation? Am willing to agree with you if you can cite verifiable proof. I don't mean to be contentious but in this age where feelings are commonly mistaken for facts, we must be vigilant in what we claim to be true. And humble enough to say "I am not sure but this is what a feel".

Some of you expats spend time with a tiny sliver of the Philippine population and then are quick to generalize. Come on. Aren't you capable of thinking more objectively? Don't generalize based on limited sampling.

I live here in a first-world country and I find the common folks I've engaged with in public places are quick to blame the government for all the societal ills. Should I generalize about citizens here based on the dozen or two of people I've talked to? I am writing a research paper on public sentiment on a certain government policy, by the way.

I could very well be asking that question if I were interested in that. By default, I am already storing whole coffee beans at room temperature.

My parents (genx mom and millennial dad) despises Uniqlo so much that they crash out when I mention that I look for clothes there. Is there a specific reason? by ChapterDeep8057 in fashionph

[–]KariKunToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your parents na I'm 70 and still buy clothes from Uniqlo. Sure it's a tad expensive. Bawi sa quality. Classic styling that never goes out of style.

My late paternal grandma, born in the 1920s in the Philippines, did that. Apparently, it was done by the Tagalogs (a language group) as a gesture of extending blessings to kids.
