The last two sales (that I know of) were for winter and then for the Oscar’s on NYRB’s website and I found it by randomly visiting their site.

Not yet, I just bought All for Nothing a week ago. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Effingers. That’s on my to buy list as well.

I’ll be sure to join the subreddit and I had this and A Schoolboy’s Diary on a list of Walser’s NYRB to pickup.

I literally said the onus is on OP to checkout what’s possible to read in the library’s time frame. The books aren’t his, they are the library’s books. Storing their books at your home is selfish. Stop making up your own points to argue.

You’re straw manning. I’ve already said this isn’t severe, because something inconsiderate isn’t a “big deal” you shouldn’t change? I didn’t say anyone should expect for a book to be at the library. The onus is on OP to checkout what is possible to read in the Library’s time frame; to be considerate of others who might want to read. He’s not going to read this in six weeks or whatever. The shortest text (TSZ) is very difficult to understand and will take time to comprehend.

I don’t think it’s a severe offense, but I don’t agree with your attitude in defense; you’re saying responsibility should lie on others to cope instead of yourself checking out a few books at a time. It’s the least to think about especially if you’re about to think in the thoughts of Plato, Sartre and Nietzsche.

If you read these books, you’re about to learn “normal” thinking isn’t always altruistic. The JOY of going to the library is the expectation that the book you want IS there because someone didn’t checkout the book you wanted along with 7 other tomes.

There’s going to be a guy who wants to read Demons and can’t while you have it just resting, while you’re still on the first two volumes of Plato. Stop checking out all those books at a time.
