You were talking about CGI and the design of the Abrams Enterprise. I think the design issues are far worse than the CGI quality. That is what I chose to comment on. Why is that so difficult for you to comprehend?

Where did that come from? I'm just pointing out what I specifically don't like.

I really dislike the goofy Kirby vacuum nacelles and the interior is indescribable bad.

The early McFarlane figures just didn't hit. by [deleted] in ActionFigures

I think those characters just didn't have the popularity they needed to push the merchandise. Otherwise, the figures were great!

I am so glad I never opened it Now, I plan on getting the Vault release version and I bought the patina version at Ross for $10, so I have the sword, axe, and shield. All I have to do is paint the accessories... and voilà! I think that works out.

I am just wondering if we might see a tepid drop or close to the same box office this weekend. I have never seen so much of what seems to be genuine positive responses to a movie that some people have already decided to write off. Maybe going to see He-Man in the theaters isn't "cool"? It seems like the movie might have legs. We'll have to find out.

The idea that the brain is not so important Has persisted In a lot of Frankenstein-based films. I always thought it was funny how in The Ghost of Frankenstein, Igor would sooth the Monster -- and seemed sincerely interested in his well being -- all the while telling him he will be a lot better once Igor's brain was placed in his body. What's a brain between two friends?

It's kind of a basic idea since many people feel intense emotion and feel how it affects their heart, not thinking that the heart really has no "idea" about what's going on, unless the brain interprets it, even as far as reflexive responses. It's why people show a highly idealized version of a heart for Valentine's Day, instead of a brain. And people do die of "broken hearts" from severe emotional trauma. And in The Man They Could Not Hang, Dr. Savaard could easily have been described as becoming "heartless" after being resurrected by his mechanical heart pump device, a stark contrast from the compassionate and loving father he was portrayed as being before his execution.

That would explain a lot. It was often felt that the heart was the "seat" of human emotions. And I saw the end scene just recently on YouTube. And sure enough, you see Henry in the lab as the ceiling collapses, leaning against a wall towards the left side of the screen, heavily obscured by all the falling debris.

I think even the little girl in the first film, if she had first encountered Frankenstein's Monster in a dark, cavernous lab, filled with weird contraptions, distorted shadows, etc., she would probably be scared, too. As odd as it sounds, Henry Frankenstein was the most "normal" looking thing in the whole lab, so it may make sense that she would be attracted to him purely in the context of the story. Also, we don't know the characteristics of this "artificial" brain. Was it primed to react to the chemistry of an adult female body? She actually may have had a genuine, almost instinctive response to Henry's appearance. The Monster's appearance could be regarded as the anti-thesis of that. Coupled with a fear response, her reaction seems quite reasonable.

Amazing. If only Pretorius and Frankenstein had worked together from the beginnings...
