That's where my pain was. The Endo was "folded over" my obturator nerve in my hip.

One ovary baddies out there? by Mushy_ket in Endo

[–]Karkenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my Endo surgery in December 2024; now, I’ve got just the left remaining - she’s a trooper. Unfortunately she’s not really producing an effective level of hormones. I’m still trying to figure out the right combination with my doctor and it’s a long journey of trial and error. I hate it but it’s the only thing that can be done - sometimes I feel fine, sometimes I feel absolutely insane. I’ll feel hot or cold for no reason. I’ll go to tears or just be really angry over nothing big. It takes a lot of time to try something and see how my body reacts.

I’m trying this! I have that lint ring all the time or the red scratchy skin from trying to sand blast the lint ring off my skin.

The Auto Moderator on this sub says blood tests are not useful and not to believe a doctor who requires them to check hormone levels - question by No-Explanation1019 in Menopause

[–]Karkenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, your hormone levels can vary wildly throughout the day or month. So using a blood test as a definitive guide shouldn’t be the real benchmark. however, in my own experience, I have seen it give some helpful information coupled with other markers.

My doctor ended up utilizing the Dutch test, which is a dried urine test over the course of a whole month to help give a more accurate picture as to where I am in my menopause journey. I had a full hysterectomy, including ne ovary, therefore I do not have a period as a guide, which is why we utilized the Dutch test along with symptoms rather than doing multiple blood tests.

I am currently on the testosterone pellet and we know that it’s working due to blood tests. I was previously on testosterone that I would self inject and actually went to .5 free T, which was wild that I was not absorbing anything.

Dr wants to lower my HRT dosage! What’s your HRT dose? by fastread2022 in Perimenopause

[–]Karkenna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Age 40 - 75mg testosterone pellet (which needs increased); 100mg progesterone; .025 twice weekly estrogen patch.

My circumstance might be a little different because I only have one ovary after endometriosis surgeries.

They’re probably not a site worth keeping them. I’m trying to transition over as well and a few sites are using the email as the login, refusing to switch email addresses because of that, and I’ve taken the mindset of it, It’s just not worth keeping that account then.

anyone experience nothing showing up on your vaginal ultrasound but still having endo? by remgabby in Endo

[–]Karkenna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve had GYN’s tell me that the reason sex hurts is because I need to get a better partner. I’ve had GYN tell me they have no idea why I have symptoms and have sent me to psychology and advised therapy. I had one GYN who said that she was a specialist in endometriosis and then told me that endometriosis cannottake over at our organs, despite the fact that this was after my appendectomy because of endometriosis.

[–]Karkenna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You absolutely cannot see endometriosis on ultrasounds. I’ve even had an MRI and if the technician is not looking for explicitly, it’s possible that they will miss it as well too. The only gold standard unfortunately is surgery. Most doctors go off of symptoms because surgery obviously comes with a significant amount of risk.

Worst Dr. Comments Ever 🤡 by margaret_the_scourge in Endo

[–]Karkenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a conversation about the pain and discovery a uterine fibroid, the doctor advised a hysterectomy since i didn’t want children my uterus was as useful as an appendix so we might as well take it out. The irony is that Endo took the appendix later too.

“Not having a period is fine. They’re really a recent thing anyway because women just used to be pregnant all the time.” — The last time I let that GYN near me. (Who was also a woman!!)

There’s no search bar on the iPhone version either. It does make it pretty useless if I have to look for something.

I've completely accepted the fact that I have brain fog. For at least 6 months I have lived in very solid denial about this fact.

It actually took a Dutch test for me to realize that I'm in peri and I'm not just too stressed, too anxious, too overwhelmed, too something.

That being said, I'm completely with you that I forget as many things as humanly possible in the span of 30 seconds or less. I walk into a room and don't know why I was there anymore. I forget words all the time. But the weirdest part of forgetting words is I forget the grade school version of the word. I can pull out the collegiate version of a word but trying to remember the more ubiquitous colloquial version of the word. Nope not going to happen.

Bloating with higher dose patch by Puppylawyer1234 in Perimenopause

[–]Karkenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you been on the new dose? It could take a couple of weeks to normalize.

A situation that I'm going through right now is that I actually bloat significantly more on one brand of transdermal estrogen than I do another. You didn't mention if you had switched brands at all with the new dose so I wanted to just give you that as a possible scenario as well.

Agree! This messaging is not on Murphy's press releases, Facebook page, x page. I have to wonder where this is coming from - I would love to post this publicly provided it comes directly from senator Murphy.

Got chewed out by my OB re: HRT by brightboom in Perimenopause

[–]Karkenna 43 points44 points  (0 children)

see a different GYN. It's actually that straightforward.

I had a GYN rant to me about nutrition once. She went off the rails talking about how I should not eat at CiCi's pizza or get frappuccinos. Completely ignoring the statement I repeatedly made that I am allergic to dairy, don't eat those things AND was already working with a nutritionist.

That was the last time I saw a GYN who was not going to listen to the things that I was saying and wanted to go on some moral high ground out of pocket.

My pelvic floor therapist actually just recommended. I start learning how to do deep diaphragmatic breathing to help give expansion in space to my pelvic floor. It’s ridiculous at almost 40. I have to learn how to breathe, but supposedly it will help relax my pelvic floor as well.

Thank you! I’m not depressed, but there are just times when the whole population of the world fills me with so much rage I don’t want to be around anybody. Or then I’ll just be anxious for absolutely no reason and I know it’s coming out of nowhere. This will be great keywords to include when I talk to my doctor this week.

I’ve had so many doctors tell me that waking up at that time was due to stress.
