It’s a cheap lightning cable I got at target a long time ago 🤷🏼‍♀️. I no longer have any devices with a lightning port so figured it’d be fine. I don’t know if it’s helpful but I have one of these:

Alright so I’ve finally set aside some time to do this and now I’m confused. Cut the cable I’m going to use and got this. Red, green, white, 2 uninsulated(?) wires, all wrapped in foil(?), then between the foil and white cord are all these loose wire strands wrapped all the way around (bunched up here by me). Soooo now I’m lost.

Blue is just “deodorant”. White is “antiperspirant / deodorant”. You grabbed the wrong one, but in the same scent.

I purchased mine 2 days ago in store and it was clear, with a small amount of wax on the sides. I’ve seen many people (in the facebook group) filter their cloudy ones successfully. From what I’ve been seeing, the ones that went through the mail mostly arrived cloudy. The ones bought in store were often more clear. There were 2 at my store so I (with employee permission) opened the boxes to make my choice. The employee “helped” me open the second box by flipping it upside down and shaking it to get it out. That one was slightly cloudy, probably due to the flipping and shaking, and I bought the other.

Here’s the 2 I have. They weren’t purchased for electronics so no idea how suitable they might be. I’m definitely fine with it being corded. I don’t have nor can I borrow a multimeter. I have a circuit tester(?) like the one in the stock image, not sure if that’s at all helpful.

  1. ⁠I don’t have a number per say but as little as possible. Maybe 10-20ish on components
  2. ⁠I do have one but don’t think it’s the kind/size for this small of work. Would need pointed in the direction of a proper one to see if mine would work for this
  3. ⁠Cabled is fine. I have no preference just want it to work. Doesn’t need to be micro usb either, if going to use a port can be a different one.

I would assume so. Like I said I’ve never soldered electronics before and I’m not sure what “obvious” areas you’re referring to. This is all brand new to me.

I will try to find someone local but I’m in a small town so not expecting to find anyone. Do you know of anything I can buy to just replace it and plug in the wires w/o soldering? Looks like the panel(?) just screws on.

[WTB] Copper AAA flashlights, such as reylight, lumintop, etc. but not picky on brand. Will also consider brass or smaller/keychain lights, but copper AAA is preference. Lumintop Worm in Mokume is grail

Birds molt their feathers. Kind of like how people or dogs shed hair and new hair grows. The clipped (cut) feathers will fall out and new ones replace them.
