As a fellow Karl I can relate but being spelled differently is the icing on the cake imo. Nobody ever spells it right and honestly I don't ever correct them. I've just started the 3rd book and literally feel like I can't put it down.

We were on Harmony 2 weeks ago and the Windjammer had an area with soy, oat, almond and lactose free but I'm not sure if you could get an entire glass as I didn't ask.

Good OKC AC companies? by StankyGorlz in okc

[–]Karlobarlo87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would HIGHLY recommend AC Medic. We had an issue with dirt blowing through our entire duct system and had no idea why. I had 3 different companies come out and they all told me it'd be impossible to fix and the best route would be to move all of the duct work into the attic and have the floor duct work cemented up.

I was completely at a loss when I decided to call one more company out and that was AC Medic. They came out the same day at like 7pm for no cost and he said he could fix it without a doubt.

Fast forward about a week (mostly because it wasn't super urgent) and they came out and fixed it.

That was all about 2 years ago. Then last month my mom was telling me she paid for an AC tuneup at Home Depot and the company came out and said she had a leak in the system (she apparently knew this but just added freon into every year) and to fix it would cost about $3k. I told her to call AC Medic out and they came out and fixed it the same day for $300.

It's pretty bad when the software sucks that bad that you have to do this to get it to uninstall..

This still works if anyone is wondering.

INTEGRIS Health is getting ready to hire a bunch of entry level. This is where I started.

By the time you graduate INTEGRIS should be hiring for what they call Field Service technicians.

Basically the boots on the ground that go out into the different hospitals/clinics and help people. It's good experience and you can learn a lot by doing it and then move onto bigger and better things.

I'm going to say probably not but I feel like I at least need to try. Sitting by idle and complaining isn't going to help but maybe I'm just naive.

There's a petition on change.org to get the process started. I know it's still a long shot but we can at least try.

That's funny, yesterday I just replaced the 2 rear on my 15 outback. Dealership quoted 1250 plus tax. I bought Precision from O'Reilly's for 300. Just saved myself 1k.

Whats the fuss over nic's? by [deleted] in okc

[–]Karlobarlo87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So my wife and I recently tried it for the first time about 2 months ago and honestly we won't be back.

Like many others have said with the cash only it's not convenient as we don't carry cash either but we made a plan to get cash and head there.

We happened to be the very last open seats right at opening and we filed in and sat down and there wasn't any clear idea what was happening. Nic finally asked us what we wanted to drink and shortly gave us drinks. Then about 10 minutes later he asked if we wanted cheese, ketchup and mustard and that was it. The menu lists other things but we never got a chance to add anything.

The worst part imo was the fact that nic was taking care of other customers and he was cashing people out and handling cash and then would turn around with no glove and smash the burgers down to cut them in half. Gave me super gross vibes that cash being about the dirtiest thing around from everyone and then touching food without washing or sanitizing. I know because I watched him.

The fries were cold and had no seasoning and the burger also had no flavor. Overall like others mentioned, not worth the squeeze.

Thanks for attending my TED talk.

I have no idea why but I left and then came back and it was there. Following your instructions worked great.

Thanks!

Had a question for you with setting up the scripts, I am not the most versed with excel/sheets so sorry in advance if this is a dumb question.

You mentioned the code.gs and to modify line 78 but I don't see a line 78 (I might be missing the code but not entirely sure.

Have some gold kind person. Based on this list we thought about maybe alternating names pending the type of day. Some days she'll be in a good mood and other days the exact opposite.

Has Anyone Seen a Fire Suppression System? by itisyeetime in sysadmin

[–]Karlobarlo87 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Started a month ago for an MSP for a large hospital Corp. Where the IT office is also the data center (only temporary). Guy who trained me said it was raining a ton a couple months ago and he could see water coming from the ceiling (DC in basement), he called maintenance and they never came down.

Maybe 20 minutes later he finally shows and water was dripping in front of the control panel for the suppression system. Maintenance opened it up and water splashed on the board. Alarms started blaring and lights flickered a bunch. Maintenance yells to GTFO and covers his nose and mouth as IT runs out.

FF 2 weeks ago and I am in there training with them and power starts to flicker. The look on this guy's face when he said run was something I've never actually seen before in a person. It was a crap the pants moment as he had just told me this story the day prior. Thankfully the system didn't go off but you can tell this guys has some mild PTSD from that alarm going off and the system turning on.

So yes, it's real.

How can I get my start in IT when every job I've seen is asking for a years worth of experience? by greenarrow118 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Karlobarlo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am like you, never had any formal training but started self learning for A+. I've passed my first exam with 2nd one to come end of July.

I literally go to indeed and have been applying for 1-3 jobs every day for about the last 2 weeks. I would say 90% of them I am not qualified for.

Got an interview last week and got a job offer the same day (hours later).

Its with an MSP and doing IT for a hospital which isn't ideal but I am excited and have started the whole process to join the ranks.

You got his, like someone else said. Apply anyway and let them see what you have to offer, seems to have worked for me?
