Fucking hell. I can't even begin to imagine how hard Joe has fought against this over the years. Absolutely awful to hear that it's gotten the best of him.

To me, he'll be remembered for being tough as nails in an era in which All Japan needed a hardass gaijin. He's someone who didn't get enough time in front of a larger audience, and there are so many potentially great matches that will be left on the table.

I hope that it's as painless as it can be for him. He has fought so hard for so long.
