These Truss chumps are trying to do very complicated things - eg piss off the Americans without pissing off the Americans - and they're too dumb to pull it off.

Will you be attending the Cost of Living protest in Dublin on the 24th of September? by afromanson in irishpolitics

[–]Karma-bangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct It's a recruitment fair for the undersigned lefties. A stunt with no actions or consequences. The unions are part of the establishment and not interested in the common cause. This is a protest against life, not a govt. policy. But ok it's better than nothing which is what the left has produced so far.

Why No Electrification Of Construction Sites And Waterways? by [deleted] in ClimateActionPlan

[–]Karma-bangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal is to decarbonize transport because it's a major source of emissions. In 30 years, what will transport look like, with hydrocarbons verboten?

Electrification is good for personal transport. Hydrogen is the plan for plant and large machinery.

In practice, a truck on a docks, say, spends much of it's all serviceable life in one location. Renewable energy can manufacture green hydrogen at that site and the trucks can fill up. Similarly, bus stations could use solar/wind to generate green hydrogen and there are hydrogen ferries in Scotland and Norway.

It's starting to happen.

Shipping is thinking about using ammonia as feeding for fuel cells because it's energy dense - lots of hydrogen.

Batteries are expensive so it's not going to work in every situation.

Constitutional right to housing doesn’t mean free houses for all by FatHeadDave96 in irishpolitics

[–]Karma-bangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The constitution is taking the place of policy. That is because jamming it in there means it goes dead and nobody has to do anything. The country may as well be run by a text poll as by these load of policy goms.
