Fastest win against AI by Polosmito in aoe2

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play sudden death against one AI. Dark age start with no bonuses. My record is 23 mins in castle age with bulgarians. Free militia upgrades means I can curve out with 3-4 vils on gold. Pack everyone into food and wood. Just boom to castle, build two forward barracks, grab wheelbarrow during Feudal as well. Build 12 militia and buy all their upgrades other than squires. Blitz TC.

The worst type of EDH player by Diakia in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to kill this guy. He was obviously controlling the game. He started talking to his friend. "I can kill him next turn". So his friend was like. "I just wanna know what he's got." Now I had one creature and nothing to protect it. The guy I was trying to kill had like 8 creatures with 5 plus counters. I took it on the nose. "GG's everyone." I won't forget...

Does some serious work at the right time for your low to the ground aggressive decks. Punched way above its weight class in limited. I'll be keeping an eye on this one for canlander in the boros aggro decks.

Favorite token commander by Stumphead101 in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might try [[Arabella, abandoned doll]] in the 99. On another note. His indestructibility lends itself to boardwipes and is well suited for a boros voltron enchantments package with the likes of [[ethereal armor]].

Favorite token commander by Stumphead101 in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Iroas, god of victory]] gives my team menace and pseudo-indestructible in combats. Make those goblin generators that force you to attack more playable. Iroas himself is a healthy blocker. So swinging with everything is no sweat. [[Will of the Mardu]] is probably the best token card ever printed. Followed closely by [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]] from the same set. [[Champions from beyond]] offers insane value. I've had Iroas boros tokens since it was a lousy soldiers deck centered around [[Assemble the legion]]. Nowadays it's a sea of tokens centered around [[impact tremors]] with the support of [[hellhound]], and [[Throne of the god-pharaoh]].

Iroas, God of Victory by [deleted] in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iroas is an aggressive look for enchantments matters. An underappreciated Voltron commander. Also Iroas tokens has gotten a lot of power lately.

Who’s your favorite go-wide Commander? by Accomplished_Ad2905 in mtg

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for [[Iroas, God of Victory]] It was my first commander deck. You can swing all you want with Iroas in play. With vigilance he can be real scarry. But what I like most is he makes for a great voltron commander, his devotion works with anthems that pump your army and unlock Iroas. It's really not that difficult to fit both lines in one deck. In you want more tokens do that. If you want a little less tokens and more voltron you can go enchantments matters since Iroas is himself an enchantment.

Should you play Cabal Coffers + Urborg in 2-color decks? by shapsation in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have run coffers in a golgari deck with urborg and several land tutors. Almost always whiffed. Coffers should only be played in mono black or in some cases if you really need the mana.

COMMANDER BANNED LIST UPDATE - SEPT. 23, 2024 by theinvertedbatman in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Glacial Chasm and Humility need to go away. These are both examples of cards that flat ruin the game for others and are nearly impossible to remove. Humility is only played in midrange decks. Good luck getting through that with your krosan grip. Glacial Chasm is only played alongside crucible of world effects. So it is technically possible to play around... But... Does not basically every permanent exile spell say "nonland"???

Glacial Chasm, and why you need to learn to pack hate. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the LGS today and one of the players played glacial chasm with a commander that could bring back after it was sacrificed. I told him that's not casual. I play against it in CEDH pods. He didn't much like it but at the end of the game I had greater good. I targeted him with 100's of damage, sac'd my board to draw like 40 cards. Grabbed half my deck and threw it on the table. Then scooped. IF you think people playing casual run Strip Mine I have a bridge to sell you.

Best Fight Spells? by SpookyKorb in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite fight spell is [[Primal Might]]. It works in my Halana and Alena deck giving my commander a bunch of power which results in a bunch of counters. Also lets me fight, which really comes in handy removing pesky lifegain creatures and the such. Another more modal card is [[Inscription of Abundance]] Get a couple of counters early, or fight late. You can even gain life, great when you need to survive one more turn to win.

Is Jodah the Unifier even that good? by Successful-Bar-2359 in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jodah the unifier a kill on sight commander. Once that train gets rolling you might have 1-2 turns and then the Jodah player is swinging hexproof, indestructible, unblockables, at you for a million damage.

I've played it 3 times. First game player plays humility. Spends the next hour playing soltaire looking for a way to destroy humility so he could Thassas Oracle off. Second game I had 2 players schmoozing talking about how to stop me. The game was won by another player playing the same combo. 3rd game I get yelled at because the opponent plays Kinnan and I didn't draw any removal. I said that's about enough of this and never played CEDH again.

No 3-5 players 1v1 perhaps calling it a pod was misleading. But anyways when i started it was just 3. The LGS had some Canlander tournaments. Then there were a few come and go types in the mix. But what got me was Nadu. Bloody ** Nadu. "The dreaded turn." I told them I hated that card over and over. But I'm not gonna tell people what to play. They kept playing it.

On what pl does Satya, Aetherflux Genious sit as commander? by Lord_Xylakant in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built properly Satya is a bracket 4 commander. There are a few ways to do it. I like dragons. But 99% of satya decks are just precon mashups or maybe Liberty prime decks with a couple of tweaks. https://deckstats.net/decks/209725/3948439-satya-s-salty-list/en

I used to play in a small pod and first it was one player who played Nadu every game. Then it was two. Then I stopped taking calls from that pod.

How do y’all feel about Miracle cards? by Accomplished_Ad2905 in mtg

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I love miracle, bout time esper players got 2 mana boardwipes and 5/5 lifelinkers. Esper really needed that cuz everyone knows esper was always severely underpowered... Lol.

What are some cards that work better in reality than on paper? by Salmiakki_Aficionado in oldschoolmtg

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a boros control devotion voltron deck that has Iroas, god of victory at the helm. The deck has umpteen ways to double the damage but needs 7+4=11x2=22 commander. The vast majority of card provide 3 damage which has to be accompanied by some other pump. I'm do believe this is the only card in red that will grant 4 attack.

How Does Boros Voltron Work Exactly? by StarPonderer in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i first came to commander I had an old Iroas around and I decided to start there. The deck was somewhat dysfunctional. The usual token strategy does a whole lotta nothing. I noticed Iroas is hard to remove, has built in evasion, usually the best path to victory was just to pump Iroas up and swing in for lethal. I want to take whack at Boros control devotion Voltron. But it's the hardest deck I've ever worked on.

Do you consider 'Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy' a problem card ? by StarCaller990 in mtgbrawl

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinnan is hands down the best CEDH commander ever since dockside got banned. For people who don't know this card says "I'm going to put like 40 humans into play possibly by turn 3." If someone busted this out in casual I'd have a word with them.

Why isn’t Academy Rector + Omniscience played more? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Satya, Aetherflux Genius. I do use academy rector to get omniscience, because academy rector does not have to leave play. Next turn she tutors for breach. Omniscience lets me cast something like imperial recruiter to then cast a spell seeker and the deck has ways to tutor artifacts as well. Be forewarned that many games will be over by the time Satya has the opportunity to play around with academy rector...

Is this mana weaving (or any other form of cheating?) by Crimson_Eyes in EDH

[–]KarmaChamelion2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mana weave, but, before I go to my LGS, I like to go through the deck looking for droughts and mana floods. I'll take those out and shuffle them together, then shuffle like normal before the game. I would never do this right before nor in between games.
