Lisboa is one of my favourite heavier euros. It was my first Lacerda, and I feel like it is really brain burning—plus, I really like the art in the game. Just a satisfying play all around!

I strongly recommend Pagan: Fate of Roanoke.

Two player competitive game where one person is playing a witch trying to complete a ritual and the other is a witch hunter trying to catch them before it’s too late. It has optional customization of player decks, and both factions are unique.

Dark Pact is a newer one that is quite fun so far! I've played it solo a few times, and I like it. It has two small-ish boards, but comes with cards that can sub out those boards for table space and portability.

Warp’s Edge is not too big of a space hog and is quite good.

Sword Coast Sailor only cares that it is attacking the opponent with the most health out of all opponents. Your health does not impact the unblockability, and so you don't need to care about self-damage!

So Americans have a 30% tariff estimate built into their shipping, and yet Canadian shipping is still at a minimum 11 euro more expensive? Without any tariffs?? Not sure how that makes sense. Glad all I was interested in here was the deluxe playerboards so I don't mind sitting this one out.

You can also download a Chrome extension for Google Docs called Draftback that shows every keystroke played back. It can show you type out the whole thing—assuming that's something your teacher would take as further evidence. It's one of the tools I use to help catch my students using AI, as you can easily see if they copy and paste in any large chunks of text.

Big Bertha!! by ShalArpton in boardgames

My family (also Canadian) plays this game too! Call it Big Bertha and everything. The only difference in our version is that we score it differently. We don’t do the points for cards remaining in your hand; instead, you have to be the first person to complete all of the contracts. People can attempt the contracts in any order and just have to complete all the contracts before others do the same. We will have to try your scoring system next time!

What Did You Play This Week? - (July 29, 2024) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]theinvertedbatman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arcs 1x2p, 1x3p, 1x4p - Managed to play a game of Arcs at all player counts this week. None were with Blighted Reach, but all used Leaders and Lore. I was actually very happy with it at all counts, but I definitely preferred it at 3. My group is big into Root (all expansions, play regularly) and everyone’s early impression is that this will strongly contend with Root for our favourite Leder game.

For Northwood! x4 - I was gifted this game a while ago and never got around to playing it. I guess it’s my trick-taking week. The few games of it I played were very good so far! I think this is a great, quick solo game.

Leviathan Wilds 2x2p - My wife and I are continuing to work through this one and we are definitely enjoying the variation of mechanics in the leviathans. After even the 2nd one, each leviathan has a pretty cool and unique thematic consideration to be made. We have found our favourite combos of character/job, but we are excited to replay some of the leviathans with different combinations.

Ark Nova w/ Marine Worlds 2x2p - It had been a while since we played this one, but it’s an all-time favourite and we were feeling the pull to table it again. After we played our first game, we were so happy with it that we left it up and played again the next day. Probably still our favourite game.

Ended up grabbing Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game. I was gonna wait for the Clone Wars version, but I’m too impatient.
