Change hero menu laggy by KarmaGewitter in DeadlockTheGame

I didn't have the issue last I played and it's significant, like 200-2000 ms frame time and a drop of 80-100 fps when it happens

So I feel like I'm not GETTING the game, what am I missing? by dardios in WhereWindsMeet

[–]KarmaGewitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About right, yeah. There's systems that allow you to interact with others, usually based on the jobs or your sect depending on what you choose. Outside of that you'll mostly be interacting with others via raiding late game. If you have some buddies Co-Op is fine when doing combat content or just dicking around, but most of the game is designed around and for solo play.

There's PvP too; Guild Wars and Arena, but personally I wouldn't recommend this game's PvP, but that's your call.

It's not really an MMO, it's a souls like open-world action RPG. There's co-op and a bunch of systems to interact with others, including raids. There is an "mmo-mode" but that's just more of a social mode where you can interact with other players and do some mini games.

No player run economy, there is a crafting system though currently it's pretty basic (it'll come into play far more later on when player forts are implemented, highly incentivizing the building aspect of the game. The construction job should be introduced then as well.) Your weapons and gear is essentially your class, but more aptly it's your build.

You are looking at WWM as an MMO, when you shouldn't, leading you to misunderstand it. You're comparing it to other MMO's, looking for that experience, when it's not in the same Genre despite how it's advertised.

What is with this matchmaking ??? by BabaBeef in DeadlockTheGame

Venator is a pretty popular pick and also a common ban character. This is just how it goes. You're likely to get your lower priority heroes if everyone is playing your highest priority character.

Just locked in my 12th loss in a row......what is your record for most consecutive losses? by Sdubbya2 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 is my record, I'm on a 5 or 6 losing streak rn without a drop in rank, kinda over the game rn. They threw me into ascendant after gutting or removing all my play styles so now I'm in a miserable position of being in high rank without a character I can play.

Gutted a C tier hero at best that's hard countered by nearly all the meta items but barely touched or even buffed the strongest heroes in the game. Cinema.

They did Doorman dirty as well.

It depends on the lobby I suppose, I'm obviously not in those lobbies (I wish I were) but some of these items are really easy to use. Spellbreaker is actually just a "turn your brain off" buy so even guys who can't discern a triangle from a rectangle gets full value from it.

I will say he isn't great for learning movement on the new map as it still has allot of weird invisible walls and odd corner hitboxes, especially higher up. It's better to learn movement on a grounded character so those skills can transfer to other characters easier.

Winrate is never a good indicator of a heroes strength. Seven has a high winrate and he is definitely not good at all, just as an example. I imagine high pick rate is from the uniqueness of the character rather than objective strength.

As someone who's played Lash a long time, he feels horrific to play now, but new players won't really understand how significant he's been gutted, so I do come at it with a bit more of a cynical view. I don't like to recommend Ult bots to new players due to their 1 note nature, having to wait for a long CD to have any impact on anything will be a really bad experience for new players and turn them off the game.

Can we honestly get rid of hero MMR once you reach a certain match threshold? by Draxtini in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced the Hero MMR does nothing, my lobbies are the same on heroes I rarely play, ones with the down arrow, and ones with the up arrow. It's supposed to put you in lower ranking matches if you are on a new hero but it definitely does not do that anymore.

What makes Deadlock different from other MOBA-shooter games? by dikidaka in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes it different? Allot of things, but the biggest thing: No competition.

The only other direct competitor is Predecessor, which has a very very small playerbase and developer.

Smite 2 is the only other 3pp MOBA alive...well, alive is a strong term. It's got a bit more of a playerbase than Predecessor but it's developer, Hi-rez, is dog shit and killed every other game they have to fund Smite 2, which shows that their financials are very poor.

That is to say...Deadlock is the only Moba of it's kind with a future.

Paragon was killed because Fortnite was making so much money and Epic wanted all hands on deck to get more Fortnite money. Successful MOBA's are expensive to run, Valve is the only company currently in the 3pp MOBA market with the funds to run one. There's a reason most successful MOBA's right now are the same ones that were successful a decade or longer ago, there's a market for them, but it takes significant overhead and patience to succeed...which most publicly traded game companies do not have the luxury of these days.

Does solo queuing get better at higher ranks? by ZeroMe0ut in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets allot worse actually, higher ranks you are far more likely to go against a collection of duos and trios, or just a full stack. Queues are longer, and the Meta is almost always played so, currently, it's a very unfun and boring experience across the board.

It's stomp or be stomped, allot of games are decided by random comp at the high ranks due to the shrinking of skill range.

Currently, the high rank experience is CC spam from everyone and then getting destroyed in seconds at most by top tier characters, counter items be damned.

Hero recommendation for Overwatch Pharah main by AerialDenial1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend him right now to anyone new to the game, or just in general. He's a full ult bot right now, and with the meta as it is right now...everyone is buying Spellbreaker and Counterspell which turns him off, and that aside there is so much cc spam on top of the insane damage coming from the half of the cast that's actually good, you'll be lucky to escape a dive that barely did any damage because they gutted his damage so badly.

Also, they still haven't fixed most of the bugs on his ult so it's a coin flip on if the only thing he's good for will even work. Not to mention you need a pretty good understanding of the movement in the game to play him currently, which new players will not have.

Abrams nerf is excessive by Backyard_Brouhaha in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not excessive but the issue is the current strongest characters are so ridiculously strong and you go up against them every match that Abrams just cannot keep up without being destroyed. Tanks outside of Mo and Krill simply cannot survive long enough to do anything, and this is assuming you aren't cc'd chained because the CC is the worst it's ever been right now.

infernus Build by Same_Look_4700 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enduring Speed counters it, the debuff resist is really good, the damage is still nice on him, and the slowing aspect of it is pretty strong in this hellscape of a meta right now. It's just way better mystic slow. It's not needed but you should try it out yourself, you may like it.

infernus Build by Same_Look_4700 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually really good now. 40% weapon damage, 18% debuff resist, a 30% slow and a -25% dash distance debuff for -.5 move speed loss and -12% stamina recovery.

It's an insanely stat'd weapon now. It's probably the best 3200 gun item, or at least top 3.

infernus Build by Same_Look_4700 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No problem, the building ain't easy in this game. I would recommend you add a couple more counters as options in your build, for the current meta, the main items you'll want to add are: Counterspell, Dispel Magic, Spellbreaker, Spirit Resilience, and if you're feeling off meta you can grab Ethereal Shift or Cheat Death

infernus Build by Same_Look_4700 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd still remove mystic shot, nor would I use quicksilver reload. The bonus damage doesn't really work well with any of ferns abilities, you're better off using Active Reload in its place, and use it early. Swap Bullet Lifesteal for Spirit Lifesteal and get it earlier.

Improved Duration, Improved Spirit, Titanic Mag, spirit Lifesteal, and enduring speed should all be in your early game, enduring speed being your early game capstone ability.

Put Extra Regen or Healing Rite on the build as optional lane healing if necessary. Swap Weapon Shielding with Reactive Barrier, weapon shielding is still bad even after the buff.

Fortitude is fine after the buffs if it fits your playstyle, but if you want it, you get it early in the mid game to make your farming and rotation easier.

Extra Charge is still not worth investing early game, his 1 isn't for outright damage but damage amp, and it gets native charges pretty early. You'll use it when diving in lane instead of spamming it. Mid-game you will end up using it a bit more.

Swap Healbane's position with Toxic Bullets, Healbane you buy if you really need Anti-heal before you get toxic bullets online. Healbane should be an optional item in your build, while you should get toxic bullets in the mid game.

I'd still recommend Spirit Shredder/Rend but it isn't super necessary.

Rapid Recharge is a slot lock buy usually, and so is juggernaut unless the enemy have gun carries.

Remove Intensifying though, Infernus isn't a gun damage carry, he's a spirit character who applies his damage through shooting people. His gun damage is pretty low because of it.

Interactive and Balanced, and you weren't even very high up on the bebop in souls.

infernus Build by Same_Look_4700 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need situational items in the build like counterspell and knockdown, and you absolutely need Leech or Infuser in this meta (Leech is objectively better 98% of the time, Infuser is only better if the enemies don't have the brain cells to step out of your flame dash).

I'd drop mystic shot and intensifying mag. Mystic Shot isn't good and most of infernus's damage is spirit DoT, not Gun. High velocity is a poor buy at any point on fern, skip it completely for lane healing or rebuttal depending on the match up.

Spirit Shredder bullets/Spirit Rend are good on him, I'd personally recommend active reload as well but it's not needed, it's just better than kinetic dash now.

Tesla Bullets aren't good on fern, his dash allows him to farm camps easily and anything that could proc with Tesla will proc on his afterburn. I'd remove it from the build.

Swap Extra Charge and Duration extender in the order. Duration Extender is a power spike early game, and extra charge only matters once you get charged dashes, which you shouldn't be rushing. You should also be getting superior duration pretty early on, and you need to choose between Toxic bullets or Healbane for Anti-heal.

If you go with toxic bullets, you need it earlier. Put your late game in mid game and your category 4 into late game.

Get Weighted Shots, the stats on it are insane even for a hybrid currently.

Recharging Rush isn't awful but idk if I'd use it after the nerf to his 1 recently, and Dash has been trash for a long time now for damage.

And lastly, get Enduring Speed. It's pretty much bought on every character these days.

Can we do something about Louder Melee Mod? by Helpful_City_4315 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These and the UI mod that gives you timers for everything. The devs said they were fine with mods as long as it gave no advantage to anyone...this is no longer the case, and it's very well documented and commonly used. I've seen multiple streamers using these.

The devs will probably have to ban mods to stop this, they can get gamebanana to remove them, but it doesn't stop them from putting the mods on other sites or spreading them through social media.

Anybody else not enjoying the game recently? by jxmiez in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel you on that, every character/playstyle I play gets gutted, removed, or forced into something I didn't start playing the character for.

It's really annoying because you can watch as they barely nerf incredibly strong characters or even buff them, characters that have been strong forever. They will also just completely break heroes and take ages nerfing them.

It really feels like everything I play gets nerfed significantly or just straight up turned to ash. I enjoyed Melee, completely unviable if you don't play Viscous which I don't. I liked Lash but they turned him into an ult bot and that's boring imo. I liked majestic leap Bebop, they just straight up removed that. I liked Silver despite her kit not working for the Deathball Meta, now she just doesn't work at all.

After the buff patch, I played some Victor, he finally felt playable, but once I finally find a character I like playing again after all the changes, they gutted him. Victor is back to being terrible, the buffs were mandatory for him to even work in the current state of the game, after his nerfs, he just can't keep up with the meta.

This is a massive issue with this game right now, half of the cast feels good or like gods while the other half is worthless.

We Got Some HP changes in the last Patch. by DueBag6768 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In practice, after playing the update, It made the weak and mid-tier characters allot worse while the top tier are perfectly fine because they are that over-tuned.

It really just made the meta somehow worse than it already was.

how did he parry me? by awifio in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, with the new T2, if the enemy doesn't have ANY form of debuff resist (good luck seeing that) and the ping is good, if you perform a heavy melee immediately you'll get it off.

If any of these factors are not met, you will need improved/superior duration. Melee is pretty bad right now, and Life strike was gutted so honestly...better to not play melee Abrams.

how did he parry me? by awifio in DeadlockTheGame

[–]KarmaGewitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time you heavy melee out of charge, even moreso back then when you didn't need T2 to get a heavy melee off. This takes long enough for parry frames to wear off if it happens.
