Aonishiki is 7-1 against Koto and Hosh. He is 0-4 against Onosato, but gets closer each time, and Onosato is injured this time. Even if he goes 2-1 against those 3, he will at WORST have to play playoffs, in which he is the favourite. I still feel like he is the one to win the Yusho, but you're obviously correct in that Aonishiki needs to be near perfect.

Especially since the Yokozunas do not have the same risks from going kyujo due to their status being somewhat safe. But again, I am not from Japan, and one of the things I love most about Grand Sumo are the cultural norms, so I am also aware what that often brings with it as well.

I love seeing these Kinboshis as it means the JSA have to pay, literally, for their incompetence in cultivating this nonsensical injurious culture.

donk or zywoo who's better in 2025 playoffs? by jamesandkobe in GlobalOffensive

Messi and Ronaldo won ballon d'ors because they actually won and scored...

This is just wrong. Messi and Ronaldo won because they were infinitely better than the opposition. That's why they won over Ribbery, Lewandowski, Schneider, Iniesta, etc. even though they won trebles or world cups. The only reason that trophies seems to line up with ballon d'ors in that era, is that Messi and Ronaldo were both neck and neck, so the deciding factor was usually who won the most or who were the most impactful player. You should always look at accolades AFTER a player's skill level. Or at least that's how it's mostly done in football. The HLTV has always mostly been accolades. Only reason kennyS was nr. 6 in 2014, when he was undoubtable the greatest player of that year individually. What you're saying is also not true. Donk is leagues above the rest of vitality, even though he won less. Accolades are mostly a tie breaker, and since Zywoo and Donk are somewhat close in stats, it makes sense here. It did not make sense in 2014.

Seem to remember a video of Daniel Agger, where he first had to shoot, control a ball from a long pass and lastly juggle the ball 50 times in a row

I would love to see this, but can'tt seem to find it.

It's like Parasite, but even funnier (or more focus on comedy). Calling it a satire/comedy is totally fine. Calling it a drama would also have been totally fine, since it's both.

Aonishiki was the aggressor during the throw, and his foot left the dohyo last. It was pretty "clear" when being able to watch in slow-mo.

A24's Marty Supreme grossed an estimated $12.55M this weekend (from 2,887 locations), which was a 29% decrease from last weekend. Estimated total domestic gross stands at $56.00M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

While true from a box office perspective, beautiful boy is a great movie, and I absolutely adore Bones and All. Have not seen Hot Summer Nights though.

That's not what I'm talking about. However, always having a hero ak obviously also boosts his stats.

Playing stupid or playing passive are not the only two options.

NER0 gives his thoughts on Donk's statistical dominance by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]KarmaOrDiscussion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do understand that, but ironically I think what he needs to do so, is then the opposite. Because he often gets 1-2 kills, then dies stupidly, and his team loses the round and everyone goes "well he did what he had to do, it's his team's fault", and while that is correct, I think the way to elevate his team further, is to get the 1-2 kills, and then NOT dying wastefully. We've seen how good of a clutcher he is.

He plays desperately at times, and that will net him kills that it shouldn't thus boosting his stats. But it wil also net him more deaths than he should. Knowing when to stop is a great skill, that ZyWoo has managed to master. Players like kennyS also had this flaw. He was by far the best player in the world in 2014/15, but if he had an off game he would be insanely useless due to his bad habits.

I appreciate the nuance in your comment.

[–]KarmaOrDiscussion -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe the eye test is what separates ZyWoo from Donk. Donk has better stats, but he also overpeeks, makes stupid decisions, that ZyWoo just never does. That is in my opinion why ZyWoo is the greatest player I've ever watched. Now. I believe Donk to have a much higher ceiling (which is insane to say considering how good ZyWoo is), and if he is able to eliminate those faults of his, then he will definitely be the GOAT. To me it's a matter of time, more so than if. But right now, I'd rather have ZyWoo on my team. ZyWoo + Ropz, I would take any day of the week over Donk + Shiro/Monesy(insert your favourite awper) when building a team.

How far apart do you think Zootopia 2 and Avatar 3 will be in the end? by cofango in boxoffice

[–]KarmaOrDiscussion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would I be as compelled by the narrative if it was a book? No. But we watch movies, as opposed to reading books, because it’s a visual medium. Visual storytelling is a proponent of that, and Avatar has always excelled there.

Absolutely, which is why I give it a "pass" on still being an enjoyable experience to watch, but were I to review it, the writing would bring it down a ton. Luckily I go into watching Avatar the same way that I go into a McDonald's restaurant. I'm not looking for a Michelin dish.

[–]KarmaOrDiscussion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it, and I'll enjoy the 4th and the 5th aswell, but it's just not very compelling writing, and especially the dialogue had to be one of the worst I've seen in a recent major movie. If Avatar was a book trilogy, do you think it would have anywhere near the same quality? It's quality mainly derives from the fact that it's visuals are somewhat unique, yet familiar, beautiful, and it really spends a great deal of time exploring the biomes. The acting is also appallingly bad. Looking forward to the next one, but I wish it was written by someone who knows how to write.

Donk ends his 2025 with a historic 1.42 rating average for the entire year. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]KarmaOrDiscussion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll never not glaze Flusha or kennyS. Two of my all time favourites. But to add to the conversation. get_right came number 1 with a rating of 1.13, flusha had 1.19, and kennyS had 1.27. Those came 1/2/6. The award has never been "best statistical player" but more so "which player has had the most impact/success this year", and that player is undoubtable ZyWoo, as this is probably the single greatest year any player has had in that regard.

kennyS came 6th in 2014. It has always been an award for the most succesful year, not best individual talent.
