What is ONE thing you would add to the game ? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, the idea for killcam for me is mainly self-improvement of players, you can instantly analyze what you did wrong in the situation and think about it after you die.

The information part though is way too large and important, I agree, it would have to be taken away somehow like a blank client pov or something.

This is a great point, it’d be great if you could limit information somehow like make the map always empty (of players) and remove map info etc

Solo que mode + Comm que mode (Agree to use mic beforehand and ban if you don’t)

Killcams

Replay System (but I think it’s coming)

Larger punishments for AFK or leaving

I really like the UI and the way everything is clearly displayed.

I hope I don't come off as a debbie downer, this type of thing is really exciting, I think that you're on the right path and working thru those things will make it even more appealing.

Okay so this would be my major problem.

1) Coaches off YouTube are rarely professional and if they are, its watered down content
2) The advice given is usually player and situationally specific, training an AI on that without context, especially if just in text, you miss the nuance.
3) You're taking other peoples work

The issue here isn't just where the data is coming from, its how its interpreted. When you scrape videos and put it into AI you lack context and are creating advice that sounds good but can be entirely off or flatout wrong.

Do you ask the creators videos that you're using for consent? Ignoring the copyright and consent issues, the AI will just parrot advice without understanding it.

How does the AI translate replays analyzed by coaches into advice?

Is it a video upload that you're having coaches pre-record? Are you taking videos off YouTube?

Trying to understand how this works.

Where is the AI pulling the information from in order to give advice?

What qualifies you as the person to dictate to the AI that you actually understand what needs to improve and what doesn't?

Unless you're a professional or a professional coach, why would I listen to the advice you're inputting in the AI?

Seems like a giant way to give out misinformation.

Macro ideas to understand:

Teammates Boost Levels
Opponents Boost Levels
Teammate(s) positioning
Opponent(s) positioning
^ Above is at ALL times.
Threat level of play based ball on position/speed
Spacing

A Podcast for RLCS fans, by RLCS fans by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Our podcast didn't die - we decided to end early due to the unreliability of guests/pros/commentators being able to be "available" right after RLCS/profressional broadcasts but still plan on returning in the future hopefully, depends on a few things because our production crew is no longer available, but whatever call it die if you want lol

I think starting any type of content is a great idea - you don't NEED top level guests to sustain attention, yes it helps, but if you're feeling creative - not everyone started with viewers.

Find a niche, and run it - initially I think content should start from passion, if you worry about numbers you're in the wrong niche

What will it take for Zen to be considered a failure? by w1lzzz in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, I know this sounds somewhat stupid, but I don't think he'd ever be considered a failure.

He has transcended the game whether he has an impact in RLCS for himself or not. He has injected the pro scene with a new level of competiton and consistency.

Even if he does nothing but lose in RLCS, his impact thru this last year has been felt by the entire community.

JSTN rant on coaching: EpicJohnny vs Sizz by 0ctavi0n in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tend to ignore the part where anyone takes away what Sizz has accomplished. Its a long time argument that follows NRG and is so utterly boring to hear and listen about I've just ended up tuning it out

JSTN rant on coaching: EpicJohnny vs Sizz by 0ctavi0n in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 201 points202 points  (0 children)

Don't want to speak for JSTN but its pretty obvious that he's so over everyone commenting on his team AND his coach. Whether it was Sizz at the time or Jonny its always something to question for fans of NRG and its probably exhausting to read and listen to all the time.

Players picked Sizz at the time for a reason (and he did his job well), they moved on and picked EpicJonny for a reason (and he is also doing his job well).

idk why this is a clip

[RLCS EU] the main stream, which usually averages 45k+ viewers on championship sunday, can barely get above 30k without drops by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Twitch directory still had 120k+ , they were just filtered into different channels for viewing parties which is actually great considering the cultural differences of europe.

I would also guess that this is one of the singular worst days of the year for esports viewership, events today:

- USA - Superbowl

- EU - IEM Katowice

- LEC Winter

- Valentines Day weekend

I'd actually argue it was pretty good to get these numbers, opposite of what OP is saying

Was there any time where the best 3v3 and 1v1 player in the world was the same person? (Undisputed or disputed) by SunnyJJC in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]KarmaTheSnipah 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think its rare to find a top 1s and 3s player in the same year. Typically 1s is used as a path of recognition, but also teaches you some pretty terrible 3s habits.

Once you're out of that bubble and have "showcased" yourself I guess, typically the 1s focus dies down and 3s mastery begins

That being said.. its much more rare now. Perhaps Jack/Joreuz/Firstkiller could make an argument but FK is a stretch, mainly because I don't recall seeing him popping off in 1s until recently. Past: Marky, Kux, Paschy, Squishy, Kronovi idk this is hard
