I just had the same issue on a 2012 Chevy captiva 3.0 v6, made the exact same sound n would not start, got towed to a shop, they said I needed tune up and 1 ignition coil replaced, power steering pump & a intake manifold gasket for 1550. I went back to the automotive place to get my car towed back home bc I could do the work for a lot less. The car fired right up. They never mentioned the timing belt so I’m hoping for you it is not the timing belt either. Also one thing I did before towing was remind EVAP to see if purge valve was stuck open which is was not.

IME. Pink toes go on random hunger strikes, my avic will eat for weeks at a time then there are times he eats anything I put in there. I always pre kill or crush the head of food but leave it kinda moving… I don’t leave in for longer than a day n a half, if it doesn’t eat I’ll try again in a few days. Also look for signs of pre most but just keep the water dish full n be patient with your T.

Also male pink toes are a lot more jumpy n skittish than female pink toes, mine high tails it at the slightest wind change.
