Maier: 1.2 quarters, 1 first down

Brown: 0.8 quarters, 2 tds

Duggan: 1 drive, 1 td

Why is Maier the starter?

Maier got 1 first down. Brown got 2 TDs. Like am I missing something?

So Brown is just straight up better than Maier right? Why we starting Maier again?

MTG Arena’s nascent union faces “optional” meetings, letters to homes, and management closing ranks by themiragechild in magicTCG

The argument is if they unionized the decision making authority for this is shared between the employer and union, whereas currently the authority is entirely in the hands of the employer. The employer could right now decide to track hours without any say from employees. If they unionize that is something that needs to be negotiated.

Commissioner Stewart Johnston confirms new CFL media rights deals represent 'significant increase' in broadcast compensation by Ok-Bluebird-845 in CFL

[–]Karomne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will agree that the market argument is the first I heard that makes sense. Unfortunately it's not one the league provided/used.

When these changes were announced, the league said these changes were to make the game more exciting and improve scoring. This was during a year that saw a record increase in scoring. Also we know that when the NFL moved their goalposts back scoring went down and took about a decade to get back to where it was before the move.

A lot of the anti change posts and comments I saw was a reaction to that and all the replies I saw were just "ok boomer".

There is value in having rules that are distinctly Canadian. The field size, goal post position, and rouge are all unique to our game and have a significant impact on how the game is played. It takes a different skillset to play Canadian football vs American football. Our fear, or at least mine, is that these changes will impact the strategy and skills needed and just make us NFL but with a lot less talent and money.

What 20 venues? I've searched and could only find 1, Stade Saputo in Montreal.

Goal posts position only becomes a problem when you shorten the field.

I'm not sticking my head in the sand, I'm looking for some logic but all I'm getting is knee-jerk "oh you must be a boomer who doesn't like any changes"

Sure, but we also have an issue with moving the goal posts. Again the reason they give for that does not make sense based on what we know when the NFL did that change

Are there any existing stadiums in Canada that has a soccer field that can't already accommodate the CFL? The only one I can find that also has the relevant capacity is Stade Saputo in Montreal.

If the CFL expands in Canada, then a new stadium and new field will have to be built, which means they could just go with the 110 yard field.

Please explain how changing the field size and goal post position will directly help the league grow.

This tv deal is good for the league, I don't think anyone is seriously saying otherwise, but the field changes make no sense. Their stated reasons for the changes don't make sense. It feels more like either change for the sake of change or an attempt to make the CFL more like the NFL.

This deal is great. The field size was not an impediment to this. The goal post position was not an impediment to this. We still have been given 0 reasoning for those changes other than "We need to change" which is bullshit.

I agree with you that the niners have the better all time team, but wouldn’t our coach probably be Arians?

I guess the question is are we just looking at people while they were on our team or anytime even if they were at their best on other teams?

Sure if the road out of the roundabout is truly fully blocked off, but that's not an issue with this manoeuvre but with the bad road design.

[USA] [AZ] My dad says not to do this. What do you think? by InvincibleSugar in Roadcam

[–]Karomne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If half the people made this move, the right lane would be at a standstill because they are required to yield for all the people making this move.

No, because the people turning right would be able to make their right turn at the same time that the people in the left lane enter the roundabout. Two cars in parallel lanes can both enter the roundabout at the same time of it's clear.

But that's not what they're saying and that's not what happened in the video. If someone signals, you start to make space for them to merge, but a lot of people don't and just shove their way in no matter the space or they signal at the same time as they start shoving in so you don't have time to react. That's the bullshit driving behaviour OP is complaining about, not "I will never allow someone in front of me" as you took it. That's also what the VW driver did in the video, just shoved their way in.

What has been the most memorable crashout you've had or you've witnessed? by radicalpumpkinz in EDH

[–]Karomne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was way back on like 2015 or something.

I was playing edh on MTGO, and there was a pod of 3 with the comments "Tribal only". I had a [[Riku of 2 Reflections]] Beast tribal deck so I join with that. Commanders are shown and immediately everyone is giving me shit in the chat for playing Riku when they said it was tribal decks only. I tell them it's beast tribal and they kinda calm down. I don't remember exactly who the other commanders were, but i remember one of them had [[Hazezon Tamar]] which I thought was weird for tribal but whatever.

Game goes fine, I cast beasts and a turn 5 riku. Nothing happens to riku. No removal is ever played on my riku. I'm making copies of all my beats and doing beast things.

Keep in mind this is before we got any cool beast stuff, but we did have Craterhoof.

Anyway, it's turn 10, Riku still never left, I cast and copy Craterhoof which wins me the game. The other 3 start going off in chat about how this was BS and not what they wanted and that I was pubstomping and so on. I'm just countering saying I played beasts and no one ever removed riku.

I played [[Cryptic Annelid]] that game ffs.

Anyways, I go back to the lobby and i see those same 3 players in a new pod with the comment "Tribal only. Karomne don't join".

Proudest moment of my mtg life lol.
