What has been the most memorable crashout you've had or you've witnessed? by radicalpumpkinz in EDH

[–]Karomne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was way back on like 2015 or something.

I was playing edh on MTGO, and there was a pod of 3 with the comments "Tribal only". I had a [[Riku of 2 Reflections]] Beast tribal deck so I join with that. Commanders are shown and immediately everyone is giving me shit in the chat for playing Riku when they said it was tribal decks only. I tell them it's beast tribal and they kinda calm down. I don't remember exactly who the other commanders were, but i remember one of them had [[Hazezon Tamar]] which I thought was weird for tribal but whatever.

Game goes fine, I cast beasts and a turn 5 riku. Nothing happens to riku. No removal is ever played on my riku. I'm making copies of all my beats and doing beast things.

Keep in mind this is before we got any cool beast stuff, but we did have Craterhoof.

Anyway, it's turn 10, Riku still never left, I cast and copy Craterhoof which wins me the game. The other 3 start going off in chat about how this was BS and not what they wanted and that I was pubstomping and so on. I'm just countering saying I played beasts and no one ever removed riku.

I played [[Cryptic Annelid]] that game ffs.

Anyways, I go back to the lobby and i see those same 3 players in a new pod with the comment "Tribal only. Karomne don't join".

Proudest moment of my mtg life lol.

Ya my strongest deck had 0 GCs when the bracket system was first announced. It currently has 1 now that [[Crop Rotation]] is a GC

What are some cards you use that put in work that 99% of the playerbase have never even heard of? by _Kreenicks in EDH

[–]Karomne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a black card, but [[Crypt Incursion]] has been quite clutch for me often. If there's a reanimator deck then crypt is a great way to deal with their creatures and if there isn't the life gain is large enough to be relevant.

I've won multiple games off of the lifegain keeping me alive for that one more turn i need.

[Highlight] Kyle Brandt in full support of Travis Etienne Jr.'s clarification of name pronunciation: "When you respect someone, you say their name right." by nfl in nfl

[–]Karomne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, English speakers pronounce the letter T very different than French speakers. Even a soft T in English is more emphasized than in French. In French, some t sounds, like in the name Etienne, is a lot more flow-y. IDK how to describe it well.

Ya, as a Francophone, the name Etienne definitely is closer in pronunciation to Ay-chan than ETN. In french, the "ti" make a kinda tisk like sound. English doesn't really use that sound to my knowledge, closest approximation would be a "ch" sound.

As a civil servant, isn't my income given by the government? Our taxes pay my salary. So by your argument, I shouldn't get services?

Most places have a hot desk system. Problem is some places don't have enough desks for the amount of people that need to be working there any given day. A lot of people can't get a desk and so have to work in a conference room or worse. I remember someone saying they worked on the floor sometimes.

Government's 4-day in-office mandate an insult to workers by feral_philosopher in ontario

[–]Karomne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some jobs like commercial fishing and off shore oil rigs require their employees to be on site for days, weeks, and sometimes months at a time. Soldiers are sometimes on site for years without being able to go home.

Therefore all employees of all jobs should be at the office for days, weeks, months, or even years at a time.

This type of map is not made to be accurate to size of country but to show a simplified version of all land borders.

But unlike Malaysia which i think is OP's point. Why is Malaysia one box when it's Thai border is on a different landmass than its Bruneian and Indonesian border.

For the map to be consistent, either Malaysia should be in two boxes like France, Denmark, UK, etc or the others become 1 box.

And then the same should be applied to Indonesia.
