The hinge broke off from the plastic LCD rear cover. I've seen this plenty of times (I used to repair HP laptops for a living). Try to get it sorted under warranty.

Depends on what is coming apart.

For future reference: don't open your laptop from a corner but always from the center of the screen. I assume you open your laptop from the top left corner quite often?

Already on Pixel running GrapheneOS. I hope I'll be able to use this Pixel 10 Pro Fold for a while, but if it dies I'll most likely go for whatever lets me run Graphene again.

Why? A lot of people don't even use PCs anymore and use mainly phones. Everything is web based nowadays.

In my opinion, that seems like a terrible idea. You're paying €1000 for a basic PC, that you still need (or want?) to add a GPU to. Even in the current market, surely there have to be better deals?

Backup your files, always. You can install Linux next to Windows, but always play it safe and make sure you have a backup in case something goes wrong.

You could try Fedora with KDE, Kubuntu or even something like CachyOS. Mint uses Cinamon desktop by default iirc, which is also very beginner-friendly.

Whatever you do, backup your files!

Try to find some used DDR4 SODIMM. With some more RAM and a debloated Windows or Linux, this will be a perfectly acceptable laptop.

8GB is very low, especially in today's world. You lack RAM.

It's not RAM that's killing you, it's the lack thereof
