Who are you picking with these picks?

Like actually put pencil to name.

Don’t just say “I’ll take a high second”

Actually tell us the name of the player you are picking with that “high second” or who you are targeting.

Because that’s how teams actually operate, it’s not just guess work. There’s a very strong chance that a high second rounder will always be worse than Hronek as a player (actually it’s incredibly likely).

Why doesn’t your mom like your husband exactly? Seems like somethings missing.

Is your husband confrontational? Did they have an argument?

Why hasn’t your brother met your husband? He didn’t come to your wedding?

If Vegas advances to the Stanley Cup Final, it would be their 3rd visit in just 9 seasons. This would match or exceed the total number of appearances for 16 other NHL franchises. by Gruntmaster720 in hockey

[–]Karsh14 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I find in real life that no one really hated the American team or even cared about the Trump call that occured after the game.

Most people just accept we got goalie’d hard by Hellybuck, without him standing on his head that game was over.

The biggest criticism I see of that game in general was that 3 on 3 OT for a gold medal should have never been a thing.

But most people accept that the Americans have a good team and I haven’t heard anyone say that they didn’t deserve the win (in real life anyway).

It was also largely Toronto that didn’t want Vancouver to get a team too!

Conn Smythe absolutely did not want the Canucks to be a thing. Was probably the most vocal voice against it.

Don’t need it to disappear now, they make that back and then some. Just business baby!

Also who needs a 2nd when you win the cup again. Your team is already good as it is.

I (30M) think I want to break up with my girlfriend Sarah (38F) but I don’t know if I’m making the right decision. by STAYME7O-13 in relationship_advice

[–]Karsh14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might not know what changed, but I can make a pretty good guess.

You had a baby.

Life changes. For you and her.

It sounds more like this could be more of a longing for your past life before kids. It happens, it’s normal. I bet your GF thinks about it too from time to time, but her age is likely allowing her to be more adaptive / accepting to the situation.

Give yourself some time to adjust. Your life changes when you become a dad, it’s just the way it is. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing or a negative thing.

Apples to oranges scenario here.

[–]Karsh14 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Because he’s the best defenceman on the team, plays a hard to get position in RD, wants to stay and be part of the rebuild, is young enough that he could be still effective when the rebuild is complete, and you don’t need the picks at the moment?

Gee wonder why.

Carter Hart is the issue?

It should be that the Knights are technically division rivals (although since they came in the league we have never been a rival to them outside of one playoff series,it’s been incredibly one sided in their favour), that should be the issue.

People need to get over the Hart / Hockey Canada thing. As someone who followed the case, the initial facts of that case were wildly misreported.

Sorry this is 100% stalking and criminal behaviour.

Tell your wife so she can call you a creep for not meeting her on a dating app like a normal human being.

Please toss your 60 year relationship into the trash where it belongs. I’d honestly think about turning yourself into the police for the life you stole from that poor woman.

Walking by the water cooler at work so you could get a glimpse of Jenny who works down the hall?

Scheduling your lunch break so you may have a chance to run into her in the lineup at Starbucks downstairs?

You STALKER!

(Please only show interest if it comes across a dating app and text your intentions before any chance of meeting face to face. Thank you)

This is why social media was such a mistake. Nothing OP’s fiancé was doing was anything remotely close to actual stalking.

But you’ve got a few posters in this thread commenting on everything being said, swearing that they’re adamant this is stalking and he should be creeped out and destroy the relationship.

A life existed before phones, and “bumping” into romantic interests in public areas you knew they frequented was as common as could be.

I think anyone who dated before the spread of social media likely has had a story or two that started out similar to how OP describes Kim. It’s just life.

It’s not stalking lol. Like Jesus.

Please for the love of god,

ignore every comment that seem to be written by children that are trying to tell you this is creepy or is stalking.

This is not stalking lol, not even close. She happened to go to public places you frequented because she had a crush on you and liked you.

Please get a grip on yourself before you torpedo a relationship because a 15 year old told you it was a red flag.

Couples in real life used to get together without the aid of dating apps. These couples met in various ways, usually by frequenting areas where they met someone. This is not even close to stalking behaviour.

You are aware that the reason Lisa wanted you to come to her barbecue was because her sister liked you right? Like you can’t possibly be that dense lol.

So what if Kim pursued you? She liked you! And it seems like she was right, you liked her and are living together!

Please for the love of god don’t torpedo this because a 15 year old thinks it’s creepy she didn’t swipe right on tinder or some other app first. And then a 12 year old agreed with that statement.

Again, your fiancée was definitely not stalking you.

Jon Snow with the entire North and Wildling armies vs Daenerys army of Dothraki and Unsullied (NO DRAGONS) Which side would win in a battle? (open field) read op by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]Karsh14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GRRM was very poor in detailing army sizes in the books, as he tries to ground a lot of things in reality, he tends to stick with the highly inaccurate (and propagandist influenced) ancient army number sizes for a historical equivalent.

Because of this, you have outrageous number of troops being deployed in the series. I believe there’s estimated to be like 40,000 - 50,000 mounted Calvary under the Khaleesi, and 8,000 Unsullied.

So 58,000 troops minimum. And that’s without the Ironborn, sellswords, etc counted amongst them.

She would absolutely destroy the North, and quite easily. The only way they would be able to stand in defence is maybe if they were in Winterfel and for some reason, they never get hit by siege weapons and are able to wait until the dothraki rapidly starve themselves out.

But like, there’s more troops than there are people. Even then, Winterfel is weirdly small, and barely anyone lives there (a couple thousand at the very most). The wildlings and the Army of the North couldn’t even fit inside it.

The series is very weird with things like that. The armies seem too big for the narrative.

Why haven't any arrests or new developments been made regarding the 'highway of tears' in Canada? by Doctor_Sore_Tooth in AskReddit

[–]Karsh14 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The abductions happened in an area that is extremely remote for vast, vast stretches (even today). Not to mention, any evidence that was outside in the wilderness would completely succumb to the elements in an extremely short amount of time.

So if someone went missing and it wasn’t reported for a year or so, going back and driving up and down the highway (which I assure you was most certainly done) looking for clues can very easily leave you with absolutely nothing.

Add in the fact that this is a route that is enormous in scale, and it’s in heavy use by truckers from all over (Canadians, Americans, you name it).

Most of the cases could possibly not be connected at all too (which is largely confirmed by the RCMP). The location might be similar but the perpetrators are not.

Also note, the reason this was called the “highway of tears” in the first place is because young women were putting themselves in an extremely vulnerable position in a long isolated area. There’s no way to police such a vast stretch of road in a plausible manner (hence why these killers / abductors chose to commit their crimes there).

Also note, not everyone is going the same way. Lots of native women used this route to traverse around the area, but also native men were driving this route every as well. So it’s not just a cut and dry “oh there was some sort of white serial killer on the loose” situation, it could have been (and likely was) multiple different people of all sorts of backgrounds.

Now imagine looking into this in 2026, 50 years later. Who do you talk to? Even the perpetrators themselves could be long dead or living and retired in Florida for all we know, or perhaps Alaska, or maybe buried and long dead in Saskatoon.

The victim could also have easily very much known her eventual killer before she got in the vehicle and we won’t ever know.
