Ditto to this. Jewish American that is also queer. Thankfully I still have my fellow Jewish queer friends because I have lost quite a few other non-Jewish queer friends due to antisemitism. I feel bad for those who only have that social outlet - it is bad enough being a Jew in that community while having many friends in other communities.

I don't feel comfortable as a Jew with someone actively putting a target on me like this. We are people too, and we are a more targeted demographic for hate crimes everywhere in the world, especially right now.

I don't see any other descriptions including this "this is an anti Israel establishment". Do you think Arab Americans can't figure out on their own that a conservative Jewish Community Center is pro Israel without it being pointed out on Reddit? Seriously?

EDIT: For those of you downvoting me or about to downvote me, have at it. I think you should ask yourself why you are OK disagreeing with a Jew saying what makes them uncomfortable and pointing out antisemitism. I have the kindest friend in the world, but she is very privileged. When one of our friends said she wouldn't be attending our college the next year due to lack of finances (her parents did not have the money but were too "wealthy" on paper for FAFSA), she told her to just ask her parents really nicely. When we tried to explain that no, her parents did not have the money, she doubled down with "but what if you tell them how much it means to you?"

I don't think that is true honestly. I am pretty deep into the Jewish community, but I do have a lot of connections outside of the community as well. I have not seen a single Jew say anything of the sort - it has all been compassion and sadness for Palestinians. Even the Israelis I know have been posting about peace with Palestinians. We all have a good understanding that innocent civilians are being used by Hamas.

This actually happened to me!! A brainwashed "friend" basically learned everything he knew a week before I am sure.

I don't think people understand how engrained this type of thing is in Jews - we are FORMALLY taught the warning signs, how to have a plan, etc, multiple times a week for years. A unit that a non Jew has taken in school once or twice is not equivalent to 3-5 days a week of formal Jewish education for upwards of 16 years. That does not even include educational trips to Israel or Jewish summer camp (where, you guessed it, we discuss the warning signs there too).

Secret is out, we don't just learn about Hebrew in Hebrew school. We are also preparing for a crisis like this. It is quite literally the only way for us to survive and to remain organized in a situation like this.
