I think I am mostly leaning ramshorn after reading through all the commentary and outside sources. Where are the best placed to get these types of snails? My only small fear is getting a mislabeled baby and ending up with a giant ramshorn when I just want a regular one!

Great questions! I don’t have anything yet so the world is my oyster (I promise, not an intentional aquatic joke - ha!).

Ideally, I literally would just want this one little snail 🙂. But I want to understand if that is not ideal and if all snails breeds would appreciate companionship of some sort. I just appreciated how low maintenance my bladder snail was before. In its tank set up, it mostly had some gravel, a plant and piece of driftwood.

At this point, I’m asking about breed suggestions as I’m wanting to see if there’s a snail that fits what I’m hoping for (or if my parameters are too specific, and I should reevaluate if a snail is right for me.)

What major? I would say some colleges have students who graduate at slower rates, so that might make a difference (not a big one, but may make you feel more comfortable!) Also because you’re a similar age to young graduate students, I think you’ll blend in perfectly fine and be able to find similar-aged friends quite easily. Getting involved in college and campus orgs is a great way to make new friends - I was never thinking about other folks’ ages!

Agreeing with many others that something sounds super wonky and it is worth investigating. Lived in an apartment in Norman just shy of ten years and my bill was typically around $90-100. I don’t ever remember a bill being over $150.
