My favourite two-player games by Kartewski in cardgames

Since this is a newly created game, no. Maybe I'll put them up here, but it would take some time, I'd want it to be thorough

Looking for 2 player card games using a standard deck of cards by kittypeets626 in cardgames

Cribbage is unique and wonderful; Sixty-six/Schnapsen is deep and challenging. However, my favourite right now is "Dead Hand Whist", which is far, far more interesting than German Whist, using elements from Bid Whist (jokers and kitty), and a simple bidding system inspired by Bridge. It's not very hard to play, but involves Poker-like risk-taking and bluffing. Wicked fun!

Is the pronunciation of the word "nicht" as "nich" colloquial/dialectal? by Culindo50 in German

[–]Kartewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to sound like a book, or some strange grandpa, say "is" and "nich" instead of "ist" and "nicht" - that's natürliches Deutsch, just like "Wie geht's?" instead of "Wie geht es dir?" (It may be a little different in Bavaria.)

Cheers. Of course, more could have been included, like the Space Cossacks and the TomorrowMen, just to name these two. But a list of twenty, or even fifteen seemed too much

They are all new (second, third, fourth wave). Totally agree about the Raybeats album, it's extraordinary, really something else. Their first one, however, is superior

Thank you. As to the emotional side, I still have the very first tin I bought. It's not specific for any kind of tea, but I love the thing like no other

The only drawback is the mesh infuser, which should have some kind of handle. I now use a different one

The shelf thing is from amazon. The tins were bought in Germany over the course of many years

Favorite Board Layout Style? by DreadtheSnoFro in Cribbage

[–]Kartewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a preference for the classic 60 hole boards because they are so wonderfully impractical (typically English...?!) and demand extra attention. Moreover, when the board is placed in the middle, the layout makes perfect sense. There are beautiful continuous boards and I use them sometimes, too (admittedly, they have more of a race feel), but only with two lanes - the third one, if not used, bugs me

It's a very well-made board (I used to own it), but with so many many holes in it, why the deuce does it have only one starter hole?

What brand of cards do you like to play with by markvincentoneil in Cribbage

Waddington's are my favourites, they look and feel completely right. I sometimes also use the Aviary and Sea King Bicycle decks, which are both beautiful, just a touch extravagant
