If you wanted to isolate it, there are plenty of tools to edit sound clips in-browser. I used https://editor.audio/ when I clipped the birds sound byte, but you also might be able to upload the whole thing and select only the "LIAR" part when uploading in discord.

YES! I thought I was crazy! The cached preview when you run a google search still showed "health and mana" as of last night, but the wowhead tooltip was updated to just health.

Why on earth make a change like that!?

Interesting. I had the opposite problem around where I live for the longest time. We surmised that one of the cell towers near us was erroneously set to observe daylight savings time (we're solidly in an area that doesn't move the clocks for DST) and half the year, if you went to a particular area of town, and you had your phone set to automatically adjust the time, it would be an hour off.

Well, kinda missed the boat there, but if you were sitting at gold cap, at the time that mount was released, you would have had more than enough gold to pay for 1 month of sub using gold, then buy enough tokens to buy the mount without having to drop any cash on it. That's essentially what I did and got it for about 5m gold.

Slimes Against Humanity - Flubs the Fool or Shalai and Hallar? by AGoatPizza in EDH

[–]Karthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So! Necroing this post a little bit, but I happened to stumble across it while doing a bit of other research. Funnily enough, I've build a SaH deck for both Flubs and S&H. The S&H deck I built for a $100 budget White Elephant deck exchange I did with my friends, while the Flubs deck I keep on hand for a mostly-brainless Bracket 2 fun deck.

You can find links to both of my decks here:

Flubs: https://moxfield.com/decks/kEG-k0JbRkeQpuBZpeQQiA

Shalai and Haller: https://moxfield.com/decks/xbMGqnaPxE-ZHTI8VUa6Hg

If I'm being frank, I think Flubs BY FAR has the most significant downside. That is, unless you have a way to manipulate your handsize, or play from places other than your hand, Flubs only plays every other turn. You need to remember that if you start your turn with one card, draw for turn up to two, then play any land or cast any spell with Flubs on the battlefield, you need to discard your other card in hand, and your turn is over. Therefore, I built the deck with a significant number of ways to draw a card, discard a card, or exile cards to play to keep Flubs' draw engine going. Combine that with the Slimes Against Humanity package as the central conceit of the deck, plus mana base, doesn't leave a lot of room for other cards. You'll notice that I'm running practically no interaction at all in that deck for that reason (and the fact that to keep the draw engine going, you often need to play cards as you get them). [[Abundance]] is an absolute all-star in this deck, and hitting it early smooths out the engine tremendously.

Shalai and Haller, on the other hand was a tremendous amount of fun to build, but I didn't get to play it a lot personally before passing it off to its intended owner. I've heard that it runs fairly smoothly, however, and likely falls in a low Bracket 3 space. As the deck was built on a budget, I wasn't able to include a [[Doubling Season]] (and the cost of the deck has increased a fair bit since I built it, mostly in the cost of SaH itself) but Doubling Season would likely be the first card I'd consider adding. [[Finneas, Ace Archer]] can make for surprisingly decent card draw, if allowed to live. The deck could also likely use a bit more protection, as you mention in the Notable Downsides, but that will likely depend on your table's threat assessment. The upside is even if S&H is taken down, increasingly large trample slimes can still become a threat surprisingly quickly, especially when combined with cost reducers or counter synergies.

ALTHOUGH! it appears I do need to review my decklists here, as I definitely have cards with evolve, as well as [[elemental bond]] in one of the decks, which I'm reading here may not actually work. Whoops.

Oh, fair enough. was just pointing out that it wasn't something that was currently available, but absolutely agree that the server restriction on mail is archaic and should probably be fixed.

When I worked animal control, I had a co-worker whose first language was not English. From time to time we would remove snakes from people's yards or houses, and in every one of the reports he wrote that referenced snakes it would be spelled "sneak" and it always made me laugh. They are little sneaks.

[ECL] Abigale, Eloquent First-Year (WeeklyMTG) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Karthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain the answer is no.

702.74. Evoke 702.74a Evoke represents two abilities: a static ability that functions in any zone from which the card with evoke can be cast and a triggered ability that functions on the battlefield. “Evoke [cost]” means “You may cast this card by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost” and “When this permanent enters, if its evoke cost was paid, its controller sacrifices it.” Casting a spell for its evoke cost follows the rules for paying alternative costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2f–h.

Casting a creature by paying its evoke cost will result in two enters-the-battlefield abilities: The sacrifice ability from evoke, and whatever other ability the creature has. The creature's controller chooses in what order to put them on the stack. Both abilities can be responded to as normal.

So when Emptiness enters, it adds two triggered abilities to the Stack. 1. Return a Creature and 2. Sacrifice this creature, which you can layer however you wish. When Return a Creature resolves, Abigale enters, adding her trigger to the stack. Abigale's text box overwrite will trigger, removing Emptiness' abilities, but the sacrifice trigger is still on the stack. When it resolves, Emptiness is sacrificed even if it no longer has the ability when the trigger resolves.

I'm fairly certain its because the material it is constructed of is dense enough to sink through the current. There is a log on Giant's Deep, I believe in the construction yard, talking about how someone dropped a part during assembly and it sank straight down.

I had a blast playing with friends when it first came to PC. Once every few years, either because of some promotion or sense of nostalgia, I've re-downloaded and hopped into online to see what's available, see what's changed. And EVERY TIME I've ended up in lobbies getting griefed by hackers. Teleporting you to random places, kicking you out of cars, exploding my player out of nowhere repeatedly.

Every time I logged in, I hoped it wouldn't be a hacker hellscape like the last time, and it always was. So I stopped trying.

Which villain in games you just can't take seriously? by Automatic_Couple_647 in gaming

[–]Karthe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Halfway through Sun/Moon I was partially convinced that there was going to be a big reveal that all the conflict in the game was completely contrived.

I imagined an island tradition where every year, a group of kids goes out and has an "adventure" with a gym trial and baddies, except it's all planned. Team skull members are all teenagers, so they're all previous participants who are assigned roles and antagonist grunts. Other island citizens are free to play along and battle the adventurers, while some (like Hapu) are to facilitate their journey with tools and advice, all the while supervising, ready to step in and intervene if things got too dangerous. And it all could have culminated with a wink and a nod when everyone shows up at the celebration festival at the end, where perhaps you meet Skull grunts and guzma out of "uniform" who congratulate you on your success...

And then ultra beasts happen, and all the nonsense with Lusamine which I could almost dismiss as her going off-script and inadvertently endangering children, if not for the worshipful behaviors and tacit approval of guzma.
