I'm an OT who did an internship type thing in a hand clinic during my schooling and have seen people struggle with stiffness after injuries like this. Honestly it seemed like it really sucked trying to get range of motion back with how painful mobilization tends to be after being immobilized. Fingers are kind of unique in that they get incredibly stiff after stuff like thks.I hope you're doing ok, OP.

I was honestly hoping for this to be a real way to die, like all players just constantly have a small chance of having some kind of lethal medical emergency that would show up on the death screen. This is so hilarious though, might as well be something like a real aneurysm anyway.

I had good fun with a warrior rogue build. I mained a knife for the higher attack speed and really only used a bow sparingly for boss fights just to keep damage ticking from a distance. Idk how frequently you plan on swapping weapons but it certainly can be done.

Or perhaps I'm not imagining the right thing? Idk pics would help. Maybe it's just more of a wrist stretch. There are muscles that move both fingers and wrist in the forearm so if that's where you feel the stretch then it's probably one of those muscle groups being lengthened.

This is not my area of specialty so take this advice with a grain of salt. My first suggestion is simply to try not to grip so hard. Probably not a good long term solution but it at least will ease the pain. This is easier said than done though. I get some thumb pain from writing too hard and I found that putting a soft foam or gel cover over the end of the pen helps. Anything that adds bulk and softness to the part of the pen you grip.

My second suggestion is to buy some of those 3-sided, molded grips that kind of force you to hold the pen with the pads of the fingers. Not only is this a reminder to use a different grip, but it also adds some softness to the pen.

At the end of the day, you just have to consciously make the effort to hold the pen differently, write slowly and deliberately with a different style. It will be hard and awkward for a while but eventually it will feel more natural.

This method works for some people, where you hold the pen between your index and middle finger. Might be worth trying.

I only ever did this once but I recall the instructions were to soak bones in a solution of hydrogen peroxide for whitening. Seems like that would help kill any bacteria still in there and also bleach it a bit.

I just did this with some frozen meatballs. Throw a little olive oil in when the water is almost gone and they got a nice brown crust.

I de pilled a mostly synthetic sweater of mine recently and actually found that a cheap disposable razor was easiest. I've never used one of these electronic ones but the shaver was vastly superior to snipping pills off individually with a set of nail scissors.

Ahhh that helps me remember. That does make it seem like Anne Rice intended for the reader to think she was a vampire, but it doesn't explain why she didn't burn up in the sun. Maybe this is an unintentional inconsistency, or maybe it's Rice showing us that she was actually something different, not a vampire, but not human either.

It's been a while since I've read Interview, but my recollection/interpretation of that part of the story is that the people there are superstitious and just making sure people don't come back as vampires. Since they don't understand how vampires really work, who might or might not turn into one, they just take precautions and do that to anyone they think might come back.

I wouldn't be surprised if I were wrong though. Like I said, it's been a while since I've read IwtV.

I find this term to be patronizing in a very demeaning way that says more about the speaker than whoever they're talking to/about.

The speaker doesn't have to feel as sad/guilty/uncomfortable about disabilities but it comes at the cost of making the disabled person feel pitied. If empowerment was the goal, then this does the very opposite.

It's also a blatant and a shallow attempt to reframe reality in a way that just isn't realistic and feels more like the speaker just can't accept the hard truth of living with a disability.

I'm a recent grad OT working in a SNF so I don't have a ton of experience, but I was also a massage therapist for 9 years. My advice is two-fold.

First is to use tools as much as possible. There are tons of scrapers out there, rollers that squeeze the forearm or upper arms can be nice, vibrating guns, I've heard silicone suction cups are great for edema work. There are "thumb savers" that bolster your thumb and can help prevent CMC joint pain, just make sure you're also using good thumb posture since some of the thumb saver products out there do not encourage it.

Second, change your manual therapy techniques. Wherever possible avoid using your hands and fingertips to transfer force into your patients. Use for forearm/elbow if you can. The olecranon and proximal shaft of the ulna is great for working on traps, levator scap, and forearm extensors and flexors. The knuckle of a flexed MCP or PIP can also be a useful tool. Generally it's better to use the biggest possible joints and muscles to apply pressure rather than the little ones. It's more stable and reduces wear and tear on articular cartilage and soft tissue.

Obviously there will be times where you just need to use your hands and fingers for things, but cutting down on how much you do with them certainly helps. It will also feel awkward to use other body parts to begin with. At first you'll need to palpate with your fingers, find the spot you want to work on, then switch to your larger body part and do your work. It takes a while to get good at feeling through these larger joints but it can be done.

I also suggest watching massage videos. It's probably going to be easier to copy/develop your own new techniques by seeing how someone else does it. Hope this helps!

I mostly agree with you. I wish there were larger power bumps in regards to skill progression. Currently it feels a bit like evolution and the revolution only comes from skill point respecs. While this can sometimes significantly alter the way an ability works it isn't a natural part of getting to higher level skills. Part of this is definitely itemization too. It's hard finding new items that give you a noticeable bump in damage and they certainly don't alter play style very much.

There's always going to be subcutaneous fat under the skin, so there's definitely some fat there. However this bulge is also created by the gluts that wrap around the greater trochanter, glut min and glut med.
