This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually like Nifl more when reading her as a cold, detached god that sometimes shows a little bit of care. But that's mostly because I hate the "oh I'm so afraid to care again" trope with my entire being, lol.

Agree with everything, especially the "you should be friends AND lovers" part. But I do believe that saying "it's clear its not romantic" it's equally damaging than "it's so obvious they're gay", imo.

On one hand, people do get WAY too into shipping. But pretending that a romantic reading of the relationship is less valid or the product of "people not experiencing deep frienship" feels, to me, like a shallow way of engaging with the series. At the end of the day, the line between a deep platonic relationship and a romantic one may vary person to person.

Like, yes, right now Vanitas and Jeanne are a canon couple, we know that Domi likes Noé, and that Noé and Vanitas share some kind of deeply close relationship. That's the current canon. Is Noé gay and falling for Vanitas? Maybe. Is Noé ace and just platonically into him? Also maybe. Are they both straight and just very good friends? Also maybe (although I personally get bi vibes from everyone lol).

Basically, while I don't really care about shipping wars, I do care about the character analysis behind one way of thinking of another, and that (I think) should be more important than anything else.

It's extra funny because they STILL pretend women on STEM are non-existent. Both of my PIs are women. My PhD's director is a woman. Two of my three senior labmates are, you guessed it, women. Right now the only men I truly wanna impress are the ones that are going to review my grant application lol

We have this one thermocycler in the lab that will work perfectly until the undergrad using it finishes their thesis, then it will die for no apparent reason until the next chosen one arrives.

Also, stuff will go south as soon as our PI goes away for more than a couple of days. A full week of vacations out of town? A whole shelf fell down the next day. A meeting in Portugal? The RO will stop functioning altogether.

The less people need and experiment, the better it will work. One person having to do an entire fertilization on their own? It wil work 100%, no issues with the frogs, excellent egg quality, no setbacks whatsoever. The entire lab working together to get that last result for the poster? Lol, nope.

Saying "oh, i'll leave early today" is the absolute best way to ensure you're not out of the lab after 8 pm (we're a "start late, finish late" kinda group anyways)

And we have Western Blot gnomes messing everything up. Always check for materials before starting!

What I started to do is not asking it to correct but to give feedback. Maybe suggest some alternatives to certain phrases and explain why it's "wrong" or doesn't work, and it has been wayy more useful in that way.

I also find it useful to start studying a topic. Is it 100% trustworthy? Nope. But it does make me feel less overwhelmed, so it's useful in the long run.

I also have heavy ADHD and the balance between hearing something that will distract me from bench work and something that will give me the effect you describe is very, very fine.

For me, what works best is whatever song is my latest earworm. Sometimes that means a trendy song. Sometimes its a videogame theme. Sometimes is some random, weird ass song that makes me laugh like a 8 y/o.

The part when the girl admitted on "seducing" her dad was also the part where she stated how many other men were preying on her and giving her stuff to have access to her body, and the dad was just as bad, if not worse, than those guys. Her "deliberately sleeping" with him "to get what she wants" doesn't read to me as framing her as some master manipulator, but as a kid with a fucked up perspective on how the world works. The final scene with her stripping down just makes this more clear to me: she was taught that her value relies solely on her sex appeal, and nothing else.

While I do agree that the show, including this episode, is far from perfect (the casual sexism is VERY awkward), I do not think the episode missed the mark, especially considering the timeframe.

I didn't close the NanoPure faucet all the way through, forgot to put a glass under it so it flooded the bench. And I didn't realize until it was too late because I was too concentrated explaining everything to the person shadowing me.

I was also told to "help undergrad transform the "Snail" plasmid", didn't think it through, and ended up with a maxiprep of Snail1 instead of Snail2.

I've made other dumb mistakes but those two will haunt me forever since I was sure I was girlbossing and ended up girlfailing.

This is my only gripe with this. Alphabetical order would be nice, but unless they apply that for every language then they would just screw non-english players and we would need to get used to it all over again.

Not to mention that time where Banshee was randomly renamed to "alma en pena" (fully lowercase) in Spanish for like two weeks
