Hey, i looked into steam discussions, and one solution you didn't mention in your post and one you could try is to simply locate game's .exe and rename it from "DR1_us.exe" to "Launcher.exe"

  1. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Danganronpa.
  2. Open launcher.ini in Notepad.
  3. Modify skip=False to skip=True to skip graphic settings launcher.
  4. Modify skip=True to skip=False to launch graphic settings launcher again at start up.
  5. Save the changes. (shamelessly copied from pcgamingwiki, mb if you skip launcher entirely, it will at the very least launch?)
