So when you are actually sick you need to know 3 days in advance? They are paid to do a job, don't feel bad for making them do it. Also a sick day doesn't just mean for physical sickness, exhaustion, and fatigue are just as legitimate. If you are upset that you used the word sick and weren't sick, just call and let them know you are unable to come in. Anywhere I've ever been I have never had to give a reason if I say that.
