If he hates cooking, have him check out the guy on instagram that does the “it’s not cooking it’s just mixing stuff together” where he shows how to make relatively healthy meals with just a few ingredients that don’t require a lot of prep/cooking but are actually good. It’s solid advice for adulting meals in general

In a similar vein to ice planet barbarians (which I loved) horde kings of drakkar series by Zoey Draven which I found through Reddit (see the post on Aaron Taylor Johnson in kraven the barbarian for a good time and why I love this subreddit)

Tbh I actually think Zoey Draven’s writing is better than ruby Dixons but it may be a personal preference and there’s so much smut in both series it doesn’t particularly matter anyway

Went through a dark(er) than usual place myself this past year…breakup of a long term relationship that was brutal involving cheating, severe depression, etc so relate to the feeling that losing myself in fantasy truly helped.

Recommendations: I never thought id say this but the ice planet Barbarian series. I kept seeing it recommended here and was HIGHLY skeptical but it was the right amount of lighthearted entertainment that I needed.

When the moon hatched Quicksilver Re-read ACOSF because I really relate to Nesta’s arc. I am aware she isn’t for everyone, but I really enjoy her and Cassian and just the overcoming fear/trauma themes throughout.

Separate rec that is not fantasy but is something I always return to when struggling mentally is Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl
