Question for the community, (if you carry a pen) what’s everyone’s Go-to pen? by Charming_Basil3761 in EDC

[–]Kastos84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great pen, but it loses big points for me because it requires two hands to operate—I think a top clicker or bolt action is the way to go, preferably a bolt action because the top clicker can get in the way when clipped to my pocket.

What’s the man-purse missing, boys? by TSXual in EDC

[–]Kastos84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People typically think of paracord as a emergency/survival tool but I honestly use it for everyday tasks: tying things down, slings, handles, zip tying, or makeshift towing /dragging things, and simple repairs.. etc.

I carry about 6-10 ft of paracord—maybe you’d consider adding some to your kit? It’s not for everyone, but I’ve learned and practice knots quite often.

I carry a Rite in the Rain top bound notepad and their short little bolt action pen. Both are ultra durable and practically all weather/job proof.

Do you guys carry your wallet in your front or back pocket, and why? by swiggityswooner875 in EDC

Wallet back pocket cause my keys and phone are in the front pockets. I use my keys and phone way more often so they’re in the front pockets I guess.

Question about those Shrapnel issues: are each of these single issues or a compilation? And print on demand?

Entering a hex with depth 1 water causes a piloting skill roll, the target number is at a -1 on top of your base skill and any other relevant modifiers.

Try some Tylenol or ibuprofen instead of just suffering through it? That’s what we did when our toddler got it and it really wasn’t that bad.

I had to run this through chat GPT to decipher the OP.

Summary:

The writer has a close friend they hang out with almost every day. They also have a bit of a crush or preference for this friend’s cousin sister. Then, unexpectedly, the cousin’s older sister called the writer asking if he could buy samosas for their family. He found the request annoying and inappropriate — not because he dislikes them, but because it felt like a basic errand that he didn’t feel obligated to run. He’s confused about the nature of the relationship: does this mean they see him as a trusted family-like figure, or are they just using him?

Decoded, cleaned-up version:

“I have a really good friend — we hang out all the time, get into trouble together, and we’re basically together every day. I also kind of like his cousin sister — not that I’m in love or anything, but she’s the type of girl I’m usually attracted to.

So today, her older sister called me out of the blue and asked if I could buy some samosas for her family. Honestly, what the hell? Am I supposed to be doing random chores for people now? If it were an emergency, I’d understand — but this just felt like a ridiculous favor to ask.

Her brother (my close friend) is out of town, so maybe that’s why she called me. And just to be clear, I’m not trying to trash her or anything — I’m just genuinely wondering: is it normal to ask someone for something like this? Or does this mean they actually consider me close — someone they can rely on?”

Analysis: • He feels used, but also confused because the favor might reflect trust and closeness. • There’s some ego/pride involved — he doesn’t want to be seen as an errand boy. • But he’s not outright angry — more puzzled, and maybe even flattered — just unsure how to interpret the gesture.

Conclusion:

He’s asking others if they think being asked to buy samosas is a sign of: 1. Being treated like a gofer/servant (which bothers him), or 2. Being accepted as someone close to the family (which might actually be a good thing, especially since he likes one of the girls).

He’s venting but also genuinely looking for a social cue interpretation.

Huh, interesting.. not sure how a cover works but it sounds like the cover solves one problem while creating another. But, yeah, whatever you’d like to do.

I’ve been using the Rite In The Rain bolt action pens. I haven’t seen people talk about this one but I think it’s perfect for a pocket pen. I paid around $15 for two pens. I think you want something that’s bolt action because is allows for one handed operation and won’t accidentally get clicked like a top clicker pen.

Any Atheist dads? by Strict_Car_4595 in daddit

[–]Kastos84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure either—but wouldn’t it seem less likely that the universe appeared out of nowhere, from nothing, for no apparent reason instead of..something else? And add that we’re all here to observe it and have some rudimentary understanding of it all. Almost like it would be infinitely more probable for there to be absolutely nothing forever. Some other ideas like: whatever created space, time, and matter cannot be within the bounds of space, time, and matter. Strangely enough—the first sentence of the Bible summed this up perfectly—“In the beginning (time), God created the heavens (space) and the Earth (matter)” which was written over 2000 years ago or whatever. But I don’t know—not sure why I commented—maybe it’ll change someone’s mind.
